Whether you’re exploring opportunities early in your career, or are looking to make a pivot, internships and rotational programs can be invaluable experiences.
We connected with some of our very own team members who are going through the early career programs at Equifax to learn more about their experience.
Watch as Sansh Kumar, Zoe Pezold, and Drew Cromer share what it’s like being an intern and rotational associate at Equifax.
And read more below for further details about the company, culture, and skills that they’ve acquired in their roles:
Who is Equifax?
Zoe: Equifax is a data and analytics company. Our goal is to provide both businesses and consumers with the information that they need to make the most informed business decisions. We ultimately want to help people live their financial best.
Zoe is a part of the Equifax Rotational Development Program as a Financial Analyst on the Workforce Solutions Employer Services team.
What is the culture at Equifax like?
Sansh: The culture is amazing. Almost every day I'm greeted with morning donuts or snacks or a welcome or a good morning from everyone. And some people I don't even know their names, but I still get a good morning. That's how good the culture is. I always feel welcomed and valued as a member of the team here at Equifax.
Sansh was a Finance intern from a recent Summer internship program.
Zoe: What drove me to a career here was the supportive group that I get to work with every day. The amazing culture we have and also the value that I get to bring to the company through the responsibilities that I have in the rotational program. The culture at Equifax is really supportive and energizing. Both our leadership and all of my peers are quick to jump into celebrating any successes that we all have, whether it's personal or professional.
What is the difference between an internship and a rotational program at Equifax?
Drew had his start as an intern at Equifax and was then offered an opportunity to join the Rotational Development Program as a Site Reliability Engineer.
Drew: One way that the rotational development program differs from internships at Equifax is that your internships typically last around three months while your rotational program can last anywhere from 2-3 years across a multitude of teams giving you even more hands-on experience.
Zoe: Within a rotational program, you have a full-time job and you’re doing the same thing as all of the rest of your peers. You’re doing project-based work like the interns are but then you also get to take ownership and responsibility of a particular product or area of the business and you become the subject matter expert.

What skills have you learned?
Sansh: I'm going very in-depth with Tableau in my experience as a Finance intern. I wasn't necessarily expecting it. I was expecting a lot of forecasting, but in this experience, I'm getting a lot of technical skills with Tableau and really advancing that. Soft skills include communication and leadership. With communication, I'm joining meetings daily with corporate executives where I get to speak out at those deep dives and readouts and really get a chance to speak to those higher-ups.
Drew: I'm currently developing several technical skills that help me as a SRE. Some of those are GCP, Kubernetes, Jenkins, TerraForm and CI/CD processes.
Zoe: I've learned how to communicate more effectively through presentation skills, through workshops, and I strive to be the best business professional that I can to add value to our company.
What stood out about your early career experience at Equifax?
Sansh: Prior to coming into this internship, I expected that I would be doing busy work, doing all the work that junior employees get offered—but coming here, I felt very valued. I was doing the exact same work as my manager. It was definitely eye-opening as I got experiences that I wasn't expecting.
Zoe: We have different committees that are organized and run by us in the [rotational] program to focus on developing or training on strategic initiatives, and planning events, on impact and volunteering, as well as our social committee and wellness committees. Within each of those, I've served as a leader and as a participant. It's through those committees that I've been able to make a difference and participate in a lot of the events that have shaped me into the person I am and have continued my development.
