How long have you been with Equifax, and what attracted you to the company?

I have been with Equifax since 2022. I was attracted to the company after completing my first interview as I felt really comfortable and like I could be myself. As this is my first corporate role, I was quite nervous when applying and didn’t know what to expect, but Equifax stood out because of its impressive employee benefits and supportive team environment.

Tell me about your role and what you do.

I am an Account Manager within the Inside Sales team. I look after approximately 500 customers, and a key part of my role is managing existing and incoming sales leads on a daily basis. My work heavily relies on product knowledge to ensure we can serve our vast customer base as effectively as possible.

What is a typical day at Equifax like for you?

A typical day at Equifax starts with planning. I plan who I will call and which task I need to follow up on. I aim to have at least two customer meetings per day, complete as many calls as I can in our core business hours, and often finish my day by wrapping up admin and sending out email follow-ups.

What was the path you took to get to where you are today?

I started my first job as a cashier at a grocery store when I was nearly 15 years old. Later, I joined a large retailer, where I worked in customer service for five years. It was an interesting time in my life, as I witnessed many department stores close permanently or convert into new retailers. I even helped pack up my store and assist with its rebranding, which was a fun and unique experience. These early jobs built my confidence and helped me develop skills that continue to support me in my sales role today, as they required constant interaction with people.

Eventually, I decided to pursue a business traineeship to gain real-world experience. I started as an Office Administrator for a recruitment agency and later transitioned to a resourcer role, where I qualified and sourced candidates. After only two months, I was promoted to Recruitment Consultant, interviewing and presenting potential candidates to employers. I loved this job, but since I was completing the traineeship during COVID-19, the applicant pool was limited, and I decided to move on to my next adventure.

At the time, I wasn’t sure where to go next. I really loved business, but I didn't have a degree or university experience and was unaware of what opportunities were out there. When I interviewed with Equifax, I knew I'd found my fit. Now, I'm so grateful for the incredible journey. I've learned so much and genuinely love what I do.

What is one piece of advice you would pass on to someone who wants to join Equifax?

Be yourself. Everyone here brings their own unique personality and strengths, which is what makes this company such a great place to work at. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how supportive and fun the sales team is. Everyone celebrates your wins, offers excellent advice, and genuinely wants you to succeed.
