Balancing Technology and Taste

From balancing her role as Technology Program Manager at Equifax to managing a household with daughters and kittens, Maya Anadam has always embraced challenges with her curious mind and beautiful smile. 

When asked what motivates her to get out of bed each day, Maya reflects on the wise words of her mentor, who has been a significant influence in her career. With pride, she quotes, "always be a two-year-old," to approach each day with a sense of wonder and a readiness to learn. Maya, an optimist, is also a firm believer that your mindset determines the outcome of your life.

What brought you to Equifax?

Equifax's unique product mindset drew me in, as did the company's culture of collaboration and teamwork. To this day, I am in awe of Equifax's emphasis on inclusivity, diversity, and mutual respect among employees. Equifax's global reach and vision to establish a world-class Product Engineering Center in India were also major factors in my decision to join the company.

Tell us about a pivotal moment in your career and the impact it’s had on you personally and professionally.

One of the most pivotal moments in my career was leading the buildout of Equifax's Pune and Trivandrum Product Engineering Centers. This experience provided me with tremendous opportunities for personal and professional growth. As part of the core team, I was able to navigate challenges, make strategic decisions, and overcome obstacles. It was fulfilling to bring together all the work streams and vendors towards a common objective and to make it successful. Despite having to scale up beyond IT Delivery management and EPMO, I took on this challenge and was able to build trust and relationships with leaders in a short period of time. Looking back, I consider this experience a significant milestone in my career, and I'm proud to have been part of the legacy of Equifax India.

Describe how Equifax keeps you engaged and motivated in the workplace.

Equifax maintains open and transparent communication channels between leadership and employees which fosters trust and ensures our ideas and suggestions are heard and valued. I believe that one cannot stop learning. In today's fast paced world, new technologies, methods and information emerge constantly, making it crucial for us to adapt and expand our knowledge and skills continuously. Equifax has several learning programs, online courses, workshops, certification initiatives that enable us to enrich our skills and help us to stay relevant.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Outside [of] work, my passion lies in culinary arts. I love experimenting with cuisines from around the world and have started my own blog that features my personalized recipes, offering practical tips and tricks. I also love spending time with my furry friends - engaging in playful “cat talks” and finding solace in spiritual discourses.

How would you advise someone who wants to join Equifax in a role similar to yours?
