For Tammy VanWambeke, a career at Equifax hasn't been a straight line—it’s been an evolution.

Having held six different positions across Enterprise Partners, Automotive, Enabling Technologies, and Financial Services, Tammy is living proof that career growth often comes from the willingness to pivot and learn new industries from the ground up. She is currently the SVP of Enterprise Alliances and Enabling Technologies.

Tell us about your career journey at Equifax.

I’ve gone through an evolution of different opportunities that have helped me continuously grow here at Equifax.

I have been in six different roles, working in verticals and industries that I had no expertise in at all. Over my time here, I've had the chance to lead in diverse areas, from Automotive to Emerging Markets.

I’ve seen this happen for so many others on our team. There is a real opportunity for career development and advancement. Our endgame is to develop people and help them grow and move across the company.

What makes the culture at Equifax unique?

The culture at Equifax is very unique and one that I refer to as a “helpfulness culture.”

I am surrounded by people who don't just look at one person as successful; rather, when the whole team is successful, everyone is. There is a strong willingness to help each other because we want to see each other succeed.

We also work hard, but we have a lot of fun along the way.

What advice do you have for someone considering a role here?

  • Be Agile: As a new employee, you need to have an agile mindset and be comfortable pivoting quickly. We work in a fast-paced industry with ever-changing regulations and technology.
  • Be Proactive: You need to be a self-starter who is comfortable raising your hand.
  • Adopt a "Customer First" Mindset: Everybody is in sales—whether you are in the front office or the back office. We are all focused on the customer.

What does "Power Your Possible" mean to you?

It means to think of your potential as limitless! Once you reach a goal, strive towards that and then re-imagine it again. Set a more ambitious, elevated goal.

The work we do here is meaningful. Think about the person wanting to buy their first home, or the student who wants to go to college. Without Equifax data, these dreams would not be possible. We provide the insights necessary to fulfill those dreams.
