Growing up in the countryside of Rio de Janeiro, situated in the Southeast of Brazil, Isabella Ribeiro studied electrical engineering but always knew that she wanted to work in a more business-oriented field. As she began her career, she had the opportunity to intern within the personal finance product area at Boa Vista Serviços, which has since been acquired by Equifax.
Entering a new realm was a big adjustment, but Isabella quickly adapted, training colleagues on products and identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Within a year, she was promoted to a Junior Analyst position. Today, she works in pricing as a Senior Pricing Analyst.
What stood out to you most about the company culture and environment?
What really stood out is how much people care about my well-being, asking me about my weekends and recommending nice places to check out. This has made all the difference in why I’ve chosen to stay here.
What factors contributed to your professional development and growth?
I had a lot of support and I was always pushing myself, asking the question, “What do I need to reach the next level?”
Today, I am in the pricing area, and it’s new. The knowledge I gained in product helped me grow along with the educational support, which allowed me to pursue my MBA. My tuition was partially funded by the company, and I focused on data science.
Who played a role in shaping your career journey?
The role of leadership, from where I stand today, in this five-year journey, has been fundamental. Beyond my direct leadership, people from other areas have contributed and they will continue to contribute to my career here. They all have played a role in shaping me into the person I am today.
