Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) is a discipline that combines software and systems engineering for building and running large-scale, distributed, fault-tolerant systems. SRE ensures that internal and external services meet or exceed reliability and performance expectations while adhering to Equifax engineering principles.
What you’ll do
-
Lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers on projects

Own end-to-end availability and performance of mission critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence; automate response to all non-exceptional service conditions.

Lead by example, care for your team and establish credibility with the quality of your and your team's technical execution.

Manage on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model.

Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of Equifax's services.

Identify, recruit, develop and retain top-notch professional talent.

Manages professional employees and/or front-line managers focused on a narrow range of work within a function (i.e., a job family)

Is accountable for the performance and results of the team

Identifies and resolves technical, operational and/or organization problems

Makes decisions guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receives guidance from senior manager
-
Develops plans and leads resources to meet operational objectives within area of responsibility; May contribute to the development of strategy in partnership with senior managers
What experience you need
-
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience required
-
7-10 years of experience developing and/or administering software in public cloud
-
Experience in monitoring infrastructure and application uptime and availability to ensure functional and performance objectives.

Experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Bash, Java, Go, Perl, JavaScript and/or node.js

Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases
-
System administration skills, including automation and orchestration of Linux/Windows using Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt Stack and/or containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)

Proficiency with continuous integration and continuous delivery tooling and practices

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
