Data Acquisition Associate - Consumer Data

Synopsis of the role


The Consumer Data Acquisition Associate is responsible for growing the Equifax Canada Consumer database by securing new data contributors, maintaining excellent relationships with existing contributors, and shepherding the on-boarding process. This role is critical to the realization of the Consumer data strategy and will be a key contributor to the success of our Consumer business.  Success for the role will be measured by the increase in monetizable data for consumer products, opportunities to integrate with other data sources to deliver alternative data solutions, and increased efficiency and customer satisfaction in maximizing speed and quality of the on-boarding process . You will work on Continual improvement in our data assets focuses on supporting underserved consumer segments and provide more access to credit for many Canadians and work closely with Sales to identify potential customers not currently contributing data to Equifax and support discussions to secure their participation


What You’ll Do 

  • Focus on membership growth for our core consumer data communities, and responsible for onboarding new contributors and data partners/aggregators.

  • Help drive alignment between all key stakeholders for the onboarding process, resolving conflict where it occurs and continuously improving to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Perform new contributor/data partner vendor reliability assessments in line with stated procedures and the associated Do Not Accept policies.

  • Proactively identify and research new sources of data and new data types online/open source data to enhance existing data communities and support product growth and development.

  • Perform target and market research, cold calling, lead development, pipeline and contract management.

  • Create and nurture relationships between key internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes on contract negotiations, customer onboarding and on-going data ingestion.

  • Maintain and grow assigned data sets and customer relationships, maximizing the consumer relationship and serving as the primary point of contact.

  • Interface with internal stakeholders to identify new data sources needed for the enterprise.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to acquire and implement the data acquisition strategy, including a proactive sales approach, identification and contact of new prospects and ensuring the on-boarding is completed.

  • Identify and research to identify possible external and internal sources for the new data.

  • Drive pipeline development, resources and execution for data acquisition and onboarding policies and procedures.

  • Manage customer relationships, to ensure contractual service and data reciprocity requirements are met, and to ensure

  • the continuity of supply of core data and data services.

  • Lead the testing, evaluating, and analyzing efforts for new data sources.

  • Interpret contracts and data governance.

  • Document on-boarding and data ingestions processes and identify improvements and efficiencies

  • Drive success in data acquisition campaigns by obtaining signed data agreements and ensuring that new furnishers progress through credentialing, on-boarding and other startup processes. This team member effectiveness will be assessed based on:

    • Total records within active pipeline across all campaigns

    • Percentage of pipeline with signed data agreements

    • Number of new furnishers and records loaded to each data community

  • Collaborate with Center of Excellence partners to improve internal processes, reducing the average time elapsed from initial contact to adding data to our production environments

What experience you need

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics (essential)

  • 3+ years developing monetizing data assets leveraging traditional product management methodologies

  • Self-starter with strong research skills to identify new data sources and Working knowledge of database architecture and data management principles

  • Knowledge of the Canadian marketplace with understanding of emerging data sources
