As part of the Verification Services marketing team, the Director of Product Management, Automotive leads evaluation of business opportunities and strategy execution within the Auto and Recovery verticals. This role will guide multiple functions related to the strategic growth of the Auto Lender and Dealer verticals - identifying market problems, quantifying opportunities, performing complex value chain analysis, defining distribution strategies, and analyzing competitive landscape. This position works with Solutions Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, and Sales teams in an agile environment to execute enterprise-class Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies and requires significant internal partner, external partner, and client interaction.


This key position reports into our Verification Services team and will join the largest and fastest growing business unit within Equifax.  To help support high double digit growth, we are looking for a high-performance individual looking to make their mark to help grow the business and their career. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Market Opportunities: Discovers opportunities in the Automotive Lender/Dealer and Collections/Recovery markets by interviewing customers, recent evaluators, and untapped potential customers. Validates urgent problems to show their pervasiveness in the market.

  • Market Definition: Maps needs with Auto and Recovery vertical target markets and analyzes the market segments to actively pursue. Ensures that the targeted segments are large enough to support the current/future business and position of the solution along with other Verification Services products.

  • Business Plan/Case: Performs an objective analysis of a potential market opportunity to provide a basis for investment. Articulates learnings in the market and quantifies the risk, including a financial model.

  • Roadmap: Assist in long-term planning and product diversification.

  • Distribution Strategy: Determines which channels (web UI, batch, API) best align with the markets' buying preferences.

  • Execution: Collaborates across functions in order to rapidly deliver new or enhanced solutions to the market. Makes quick and effective decisions while considering many complicated competing forces in order to hit deadlines and drive revenue.

  • Positioning: Provides Solutions Marketing with inputs for creation of positioning, value propositions, and challenger-based messages to differentiate our solutions.

  • Solution Profitability: In collaboration with Sales, Finance, and D&A, monitors and analyzes key performance indicators (KPI’s) to determine how well the solution is performing in the market, how it impacts the company operations, and ultimately, how it contributes to profit. Recommends adjustments as needed.

  • Thought Leadership: Serve as a subject matter expert and provide thought leadership to aid in the strategic direction and development of webinars, whitepapers, conference speaking engagements, case studies and other marketing initiatives.

  • Customer experience: Understand how clients use our solutions (delivery, on-boarding, experience, etc.); Collaborates with Solutions Marketing to develop and maintain key buyer and user personas; Understand the buying process.


What experience you need:

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred

  • 4+ years experience in B2B software product management and/or strategy role in a complex business environment

  • Looking for 2+ years broad experience in Automotive Lending and/or other Banking & Lending service offerings

  • Direct experience in and understanding of the Auto lending and/or dealer industries

  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with peers, managers, and senior management within and across organizational lines, as well as with clients, prospective clients, and partners

  • Track record of successfully delivering high quality projects on time in a fast-paced/rapidly changing environment 

  • Extensive analytical skills as evidenced by a proven ability to quantitatively and qualitatively analyze product concepts, assess market opportunities/viability, and evaluate competitive threats

  • Autonomous influencer who can work comfortably with Marketing, Data & Analytics, Technology, and Sales teams, to get the job done
