What you’ll do:
The Senior Software Engineer is an integral part of a cross-functional squad, responsible for design, build, test, and support of applications.
They will have a strong understanding of the Agile delivery methodology in compliance with the Engineering Handbook SDLC guidelines.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Engineer embodies asset ownership by consistently improving software systems, resolving technical debt, promoting reuse, maintaining quality, and implementing reliability.
Equifax is an extremely data rich and technology driven place, you will be working in a multidisciplinary environment. In addition to supporting international products, we’re at the early stages of a major digital transformation, migrating onto the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a huge transformation and an opportunity to be on the ground floor of something exciting, while also learning a new and emerging technology.
What are we looking for?
Strong hands on experience in Java - object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, debugging, unit testing, and continuous integration. Service side frameworks (Spring boot, Spring cloud, Spring, Spring boot Microservices)
Containerisation, and experience with Cloud technologies
Understanding of data engineering ETL practices (Extract, Transformation and Load)
Experience with continuous integration technologies (Maven, Jenkins, Sonar)
Microservices experience (including monitoring, logging, scalability, availability, performance)
Ability to develop strategic design and requirements as a major contributor to a projects’ success for large revenue generating systems/products.
Identify improvements in systems and work and participate in estimation process, use case specifications, reviews of test plans and test cases, requirements, and project planning.
Consistently and clear technical judgment, innovation, and consideration for the projects’ objectives.
Able to provide technical guidance, supervise others, provide instructions, and debug code written by team members.
