What you’ll do 

As a Compliance Manager, you will provide responsive, efficient, practical and high quality compliance services specifically in relation to laws and industry standards affecting Equifax’s operations in New Zealand, coordinating as required with the wider A/NZ Compliance team, internal legal counsel and other internal and external advisors in each applicable jurisdiction. Providing continuous improvement to the ANZ compliance programme, developing and implementing policies and guides, training programmes, monitoring compliance, developing and maintaining a knowledge of laws and industry standards, undertaking regulatory and governance reporting  while also responding to compliance enquiries are but a few key responsibilities of this role. Additionally, you will be engaged in conducting audits,and controls testing and monitoring.

Assisting the GM of Compliance and wider A/NZ Compliance team to develop and encourage a culture of compliance, including by developing effective relationships with key business stakeholders/staff to ensure that a culture of compliance is embraced and supported within the business is an important part of this role. You will manage case work with relevant regulators, be the first point of referral for responses to regulatory investigations in New Zealand, including investigations by the OPC and, arising from complaints being handled by the A/NZ Customer Resolutions Team. You will also ensure that the company's operational activities across Australia and New Zealand are compliant with relevant legislation. 

What experience do you need? 

  • Tertiary qualification in either Law or Business

  • Preferably 3+ years of experience in Compliance, Legal, Audit or risk management function or  in an operations, product or marketing function in a financial services organisation that has had close interaction with the Compliance function.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to influence and effectively communicate technical or complex matters to a variety of audiences at different levels

  • Ability to conduct audits independently

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and engage with team members internationally

  • Experience with OPC or other regulatory  investigations

  • Revision of marketing and other collateral compliance exposure

  • Case Management and complaint handling experience
