About the Role:

 

Negotiating favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers for the procurement of goods, services and supplies. Purchasing in support of customer-related business processes or for internal use. Discussing defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiating refunds. Defining and executing corporate strategy for insourcing/outsourcing of functional and other complex services. Managing strategic outsourcing services vendors and performing dispute resolution on behalf of the company.

 

Manages Iberia sourcing and solutions strategies, leveraging corporate and industry best practices and emerging trends that impact strategic vendor negotiations. Monitors relevant markets and vendors for optimized sourcing solutions, and executes complex negotiations for key strategic services. Develops, prepares and negotiates pricing and business contractual terms and conditions for new  goods & services contracts, contract renewals and amendment of existing strategic vendor contracts. Manages requests for proposal, selection, and contracting process. Acts as an escalation point for vendor management issues within the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 
  • Lead collaborative sourcing efforts, this may include vendor, client negotiations, and contracts management processes.(i.e. RFx, scoring, award, Bid analysis, event management, etc.) 

  • Develop regional category strategies, develop and implement processes and procedures to manage assigned area

  • Monitor supplier agreements, develop and maintain supplier relationships, manage total cost of ownership for assigned commodities, and integrate knowledge and skills across geographies and purchasing commodities.

  • Produce spend analytics reports and metrics 

  • Manage Contract Lifecycle Management.   Functionality to include: Contract Repository, Authoring & Negotiation, Contract Requests/Process

  • Ensure risk mitigation efforts and governance are adhered where applicable, e.g. engagement of Third Party Oversight, Security, and Legal.

  • Reviews & Action Requisitions according to the Global Procurement Policy

  • As necessary:

    • Identify and recommend changes to existing policy and processes that could contribute to cost reductions, and operational efficiency, and risk mitigation.

    • Drive internal relationships, win through influence, and create strong alliances between the Global Sourcing Group, and other Internal Equifax customers.

    • Develop a global category strategy that aligns with business objectives - strategy includes but is not limited to, supply market analysis, price/service level benchmarking, sourcing events (RFP/e-auction), supplier negotiations, ongoing supplier relationship management

    • Build and institutionalize market intelligence capabilities (people, database, information, analysis) within categories of focus, regarding key markets, suppliers, and solutions to support strategy development

    • Build and maintain cross-functional stakeholder relationships

Duties:

  • Promptly establishing a business partnering approach with all relevant stakeholders to ensure effective engagement and appropriate communication internally. The role holder should seek to raise the profile of Global Sourcing with relevant stakeholder groups across the firm and collaborate on forward plans.

  • Gaining a clear understanding of existing processes and key support areas of the firm in order to facilitate the successful delivery of procurement activity and post-contract support in the form of Supplier Management.

  • Seeking best value and preferential terms and identifying opportunities for improvement/innovation.

  • Influencing effectively both internally and externally to deliver best in class supply base management.

  • Timely, regular communication with SVP Global Sourcing to advise of progress and to ensure effective senior stakeholder communications and escalations.

  • Liaising closely with stakeholders to ensure that Supplier Management and other strategic initiatives are clearly understood by the wider business, and delivered to auditable parameters.

  • Contributing directly to strategic initiatives and implementation plans for the team.

  • Support in shaping Global Sourcing strategy, policy and processes, which allow us to maintain focus on risk management whilst further developing commercial capabilities and profile.

Requirements:

 
  • Fluent/Bilingual in Spanish & English, both verbal and written  

  • Strong commercial Procurement experience at either a Senior Buyer, Category Manager/Category Lead or Procurement Manager position.

  • Sound commercial contracts knowledge, you’ll know your way around what a good agreement looks like

  • Change management experience, you’ll be able to bring everyone to a common consensus

  • Collaborative and operates well in a matrix environment 

Desirable:

 
  • Recognised as a procurement professional via Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent

  • Experience of working within a regulated industry (e.g. Financial Services, Utilities, Telecommunications, Public Sector, Healthcare, Transport etc)

  • Risk reporting or 3rd Party Risk Management experience would be useful to have.
