Software Engineer - L2 Engineer

What You’ll Do

• Take ownership of system and customer issues and see them through to resolution

• Research, diagnose, troubleshoot and identify solution to resolve those issues

• Maintain a knowledge base of resolutions and known errors

• Maintain a knowledge base of incident run sheets per system.

• Prioritise and manage several open issues at one time

• Follow standard ITSM procedures, including communications and escalation of unresolved issues

• Function as a member of the App Engineering or SRE team, taking on Development and Automation and SRE tasks from time to time

• Participate in the on-call roster and provide effective after-hours support, when required.

• Lead by example and live by the values of Equifax 

• Deliver on any other responsibility given by your manager

What experience you need

• BS or MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent job experience required

• 5+ Years of hands-on experience as an L2 Engineer

• You have experience developing accessible technologies

• You are interested and able to learn other coding languages as needed

• You can write very high quality code that is robust and easy to maintain

• You have experience in debugging, diagnosing, and trouble-shooting complex, production software

• You adore working in a fast paced and agile development environment

• You possess excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills

• You have detailed knowledge of modern software development lifecycles including CI / CD

• You have the ability to operate across a broad and complex business unit with multiple stakeholders

What could set you apart

• UI development (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, AngularJS, Angular 4/5 and Bootstrap)

• Source code control management systems (e.g. SVN/Git, Subversion) and build tools like Maven

• Big Data, Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, NoSQL databases (e.g. Cassandra, Hadoop, MongoDB, Neo4J)

• Design patterns

• Agile environments (e.g. Scrum, XP)
