The Equifax Global Product Operations organization is looking for a Sr. Product Manager in Pune, India to be the ambassador between our locally-based Product Development teams and our globally distributed, business-unit based Product Management teams. This individual will drive the development of a “Product Mindset” within the development teams which will include ensuring understanding of the product management discipline, partnership with the product management teams, and employee engagement within the broader Equifax Product community.
This key individual will demonstrate deep understanding of product management discipline, the software development lifecycle, and iterative product development processes. The successful candidate will have direct experience with developing, launching, and managing commercial products.

As the Senior Product Manager, you will provide product management expertise and thought leadership to the product team, bridging the gap between idea and delivery, advancing technologies/concepts and seeking cross business unit collaboration on solutions.

You will coach development teams to connect and partner with respective Product Management peers across Equifax to continuously understand product strategy as the guiding reference for the associated development efforts.

You will work closely with business stakeholders and engineering leaders to ensure development teams have clear product development prioritization supporting desired business objectives.

You will also provide guidance to development teams as they regularly assess risks, anticipate bottlenecks, manage escalations and make trade-offs balancing business needs against constraints.

Acting as a bridge between the Product Managers and the development teams, your passion, drive and intellect will foster thoughtful behavior that maximizes value for customers and benefits the greater enterprise.

In this position, you will play a lead role in the refinement and realization of product strategies through alignment with development activities. The successful candidate will have strong collaborative skills, be able to influence, have strong Product Management and technical skills, work effectively in a matrixed organization, and be able to successfully partner with project managers, product managers, and delivery leaders in different organizations.
What you'll do

Interact with executive product leadership, engineering, product management teams and multiple global stakeholder teams to define, prioritize and deliver complex services and products

Work with key stakeholders in product management and executive teams to understand and clearly communicate global product strategies to development teams to ensure alignment of the market/customer-focus of the product

Ensure Market Understanding for product and product lines being supported by PTEC teams through review of market sizing and segmentation, customer needs and implications of competitive analysis as determined by product management

Enable Development team support of prioritization of opportunities through understanding of the feature/functionality required to address market needs

Promote team awareness commercial viability of developed product functionality through product manager, market feedback and understanding of commercial model and packaging

Ensure Development team emphasis on understanding the product vision, strategy and goals and the alignment with development priorities as governed by the product roadmap and development backlog

Foster Development team-originated innovation by encouraging their ability to bring up new problems, encouraging new ways to solve existing problems, valuing learning, and promotion of strong collaboration with Product Management

Drive Development team understanding of product descriptions and requirements developed by Product Management and leveraging market understanding and feedback

Ensure Development teams identify and document product development trade-offs and drive alignment with product management

Ensure Development team awareness and periodic review of product performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as supplied by Product Management

Ensure Dev teams partner with product management to understand any Collected, analyzed and interpreted data including customer feedback that drive product development and lifecycle management decisions including enhancements and sunsetting

Coach Development teams to proactively identify and resolve development issues and/or dependencies that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

Develop Development team skills to: anticipate bottlenecks, escalate issues to product management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints

Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels and maximize resources for the greater good of our internal and external customers

Coach development teams to drive effective teamwork with the broader product organization through communication, collaboration and commitment

Work closely with product management and business leaders to ensure proactive collaboration and team-building with the Development teams

Communicate Product Management concepts and drive Development teams to: adopt a learning culture to mature their product mindset, advocate for others across the product ecosystem, and address counterproductive behaviors within their teams.

Interact with key decision-makers across the Product Management function and across related functions to successfully navigate Equifax’ organization involving others as needed to drive desired product outcomes.
Experience you will need
-
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar major
-
7+ years experience in Product Management with direct or supervisory responsibility for developing, launching, and managing software, data & analytics or technology products
-
Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders without having a formal reporting relationship
-
Demonstrated ability to lead through influence - ideally, leadership of technical development teams without direct authority
-
Experience with coaching teams and driving a cultural shift towards imperatives including: customer/market focus, continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Experience in technology roles. An Ideal candidate may have also worked in consulting and have strong business acumen.

Technical fluency; comfort discussing or diving deep on technology concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members; understanding of the entire technology stack

Strong presentation skills, including the ability to rationalize product features.

Strong technical skills preferred, to be able to break business requirements down to a technical level.

Ability to manage multiple initiatives/priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Working knowledge of standard SDLC processes in an Agile framework.

Ability to develop effective working relationships with peers, managers, and senior management within and across organizational lines.

Experience working directly with customers, technology vendors and business partners.

Comfortable presenting to an executive audience and commanding large, diverse cross-functional teams in a composed, poised and professional demeanor.
