Business Analyst (Data)

We're expanding our Data and Governance team and are now looking for a proven Business Analyst (Data) to support this. You will be a key player in reducing regulatory risk, assessing the health and quality of our data assets, analysing business incidents, analysing audit and compliance reports. 

You will be responsible for measuring our compliance to various data frameworks and policies ensuring we have the correct controls in place and proposing improvements where non-conformance or control failures are discovered. You will ensure we have oversight and transparency across a range of data lifecycle processes including the use of data in our client base. The role will also contribute to the commercial success of the organisation through improved controls and data performance.

What you’ll do

  •  Ensure we have sufficient reporting across the function to demonstrate we have the highest levels of data integrity and data quality. Prepare summary reports from a range of departmental information sources, commissioning new information sources where relevant

  • Prepare evidence of working controls across the data estate identifying deficits where relevant

  • Prepare reports for any incidents or proposed changes identifying root cause / remediation plans and or any actions / tasks to mitigate the risk of change to ensure smooth implementation.

  • Work with key stakeholders, prepare and elaborate requirements to a detailed level to support business change ideas, propositions, data changes

  • Develop comprehensive testing strategies and plans to support business data changes and take responsibility for reviewing the outcomes of testing to ensure functional conformance.

  • Prepare audit briefings based on the analysis of client contracts, the identification of risk areas and the boundaries of the Third Party Data Assurance Framework

  • Prepare and maintain a diary of all audit assessments ensuring appropriate stakeholders are engaged

  • Be point of contact during the audit assessment and analyse the audit reports surfacing any results and findings for internal consumption

  • Maintain and drive a remediation plan for any relevant audits and maintain / report the status of agreed plans to relevant forums

  • Support the 3rd Party Data Assurance Manager in the production of summary report findings, remediation plans for the forum

What experience you need 

  • Intermediate experience within a data led organisation providing business analysis

  • Good experience with audit & compliance programmes

  • Good experience of business analysis / report generation

  • Good experience working with multiple levels in an organisation facilitating successful delivery of projects

  • Good experience of client relationship management

  • Able to convey confidence to external bodies; a strong communicator both verbally and written
