Front End Developer & UX Design Manager


The role of Front-End Developer & UX Design Mgr is a hybrid role bringing together the responsibility for the production and maintenance of the Equifax UK B2C website and bringing new products and features to market through thoughtful UX design requirements that drive product adoption and engagement.  This role works cross-functionally and with multiple levels of the organisation, working in a fast-paced environment  which will require you to flex your strong organisational and prioritisation skills and bring your creative solutions to interesting and challenging problems. The role can be based in our Leeds or London office

What you’ll do

  • Building ,coding ,testing, release management  and ongoing maintenance of  our website.

  • Deliver conceptual, functional and production ready UX & UI designs and wireframes for multiple channels including our Equifax consumer member centre, products and call centre applications that improve site interaction and experience

  • Lead on usability analysis, research and testing (MVT, A/B) of prototype designs

  • Pre/post release testing and search engine optimization for a number of web/digital design projects and initiatives.

  • Documentation of functional requirements and business logic

  • Clear documentation and audit trail of all website releases

  • Liaising with the back-end developers / engineering team on all web-based projects.

  • Working with colleagues on user experience testing

  • Debugging the front end display bugs 

  • Continually evaluate our front end service, identifying potential opportunities for improvement,  translating this into development requirements for the technology team to build.

  • Support the Product Director and Product Managers in creating business cases for new product concepts 

  • Work closely with internal customers, process owners, development teams, support teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that end-to-end solutions are delivered with quality and that expectations are met for functionality, reliability, and availability

  • Participates in the development and helps drive the adherence to relevant standards, guidelines, best practices, and procedures across the organisation

What experience you need

  • Extensive front end development experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrate experience working on projects in large commercial environments

  • UX/Regulatory: Information Architecture, DDA/W3C Accessibility, Prototyping, Wire-framing

  • Development: HTML 5 (Flexbox, Responsive Frameworks), CSS 3, Javascript, JSON, AngularJS, XML, XSLT and SEO Techniques, Appreciation of dynamic server side languages (JSP, ASP & PHP) & CMS Technologies 

  • Design: Product Design, Conceptual Design, User Centered, Mobile first, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), image optimisation

  • Source/Version control and Release management: GIT

  • Familiarity with best practices for usability, conversion optimisation and accessibility

  • Familiarity with marketing tech and automation platforms such as Glassbox, Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, A/B testing etc

  • Experience in the design or testing of APIs

  • Diagnostic accuracy and problem-solving for debugging websites

  • Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Atlassian Confluence 

  • Demonstrable experience working within agile development and cloud-native 

  • Data-savvy, experience working in product environments heavily driven by data and analytics

  • Generates new ideas, supports change, encourages innovation, solves problems creatively, identifies and supports activities that lead to revenue growth

  • Passion and energy for consumers and their financial well-being

  • Experience working in a regulated environment

  • Knowledge of data insights and how they help consumers

  • Analytical, methodical in approach, brings rigour to the process

  • Analyses successes and failures and uses this data proactively

  • Proven track record of identifying and executing on growth opportunities
