Consumer Solutions Product Director

Product Management

Our Product Director is a key player in the Senior Leadership Team for Consumer Solutions.  You will lead and own our product end to end for the UK market.  Inspiring a small team of dedicated product professionals you will be responsible for product strategy, innovation, lifecycle, maintenance and execution.  The role requires a combination of strategic focus and technical capability together with a strong commercial focus.

What You'll Do

Product Strategy:

  • Create and deliver a strategic product roadmap which maximises our data assets while supporting consumers to be at their financial best using smart competitor and consumer insights.

  • Develop and maintain new product innovation and value propositions with go to market material, integration and pricing plans.

  • Produce clear and concise business cases to drive forward consumer solutions strategic initiatives

  • Collaborate with finance and pricing leads to optimise price points across indirect markets and to leverage creative pricing frameworks and solutions to drive major account negotiations.

  • Perform ongoing monitoring to detect and understand changes in industry, competitive landscape, organisational positioning, regulatory, or consumer trends and analyse implications to the established strategic plans.  Provide recommendations for amendments to the established strategies based on acquired trend insights.

Product Management:

  • Lead and develop the overall product team, responsible for the fulfilment of existing product components of IDV, Fraud, UX, Billing, Reporting and Data across the Renaissance platform.

  • Design operating models and processes for any new products, services or data sets ensuring they are scalable, efficient and drive high quality

  • Work seamlessly with adjacent product teams, technology and operational organisations across Equifax - maximising opportunities to collaborate

  • Manage existing product life cycles ensuring they are fit for purpose and fair value for consumers. 

  • Responsible for Business Acceptance Testing (BAT) and carry out launches through a cross-functional team and provide ongoing product support to Marketing to help retain the existing customer base. 

  • Continually evaluate existing technology, processes, procedures, and data usage to understand maturity of business and potential opportunities for improvement,  translating this into development requirements for the technology team to build.

  • Lead the speedy resolution of product incidents to avoid consumer harm

  • Manage relationships with third party suppliers through regular engagement and assessment of services

  • Contribute to the leadership of Equifax to achieve an integrated, cohesive team across the business 

UX Design:

  • Lead resource responsible for all aspects of UX design across products, web and platforms, working closely with counterparts across to business to drive efficiencies

    • Lead development of  wire frames to define and refine the customer experience on new and existing products, in collaboration with product managers

    • Design icon and graphic assets for use by development teams

    • Create, follow, and update style guides and design pattern libraries to ensure consistent implementation 

    • Understand customer goals, business requirements, and technical constraints to work within project parameters

What experience you will need

  • Consumer product leadership experience gained from a similar data industry within B2C

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA preferred or equivalent experience

  • Experience in developing innovative NPI strategies

  • Experience in developing upsell and cross sell programmes, driving lifetime value 

  • People leadership experience creating and maintaining a driven yet supportive culture

  • A track record in creating and maximising relationships across the business

  • Demonstrable ability to drive for results while containing costs

  • Experience of key data regulations including GDPR and an understanding of the importance of strong data governance in all aspects of the role

  • Ability to understand technical issues at a high level and drive results

  • Demonstrable experience working within agile development and cloud-native 

  • Data-savvy, experience working in product environments heavily driven by data and analytics
