Senior Data Governance and Stewardship - Specialist

Equifax has a new career opportunity for a Compliance Risk Assessor in our Data & Analytics Data Management & Compliance group.  The position will aid in administration of the US Data Governance Audit program for our Ignite analytical environment and support expansion of the program through the execution of key program elements globally. 

What you’ll do

  • Conduct internal control review and monitoring for proper roles based access and usage of enterprise data assets in an analytical environment.    

  • Collaborate with the team regarding elements of data governance audit and compliance programs including remediation or response plans.

  • Perform risk assessments and analysis. 

  • Identify controls and potential control gaps and weaknesses for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies. 

  • Support and assist the documentation of observations, recommendations and management response plans in written reports to Management.

  • Responsible for maintaining a central repository for loading, monitoring, and closing observations, recommendations, and response plans.

  • Lead meetings and discussions to understand and document processes and systems.

  • Research industry trends and key market information for continuous program improvement.

  • Handle additional ad hoc activities as needed to include providing back up support for other key additional data governance functions.

What experience you need 

  • BS or MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent job experience required  

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience that includes responsibilities across data, governance, and/or compliance related roles.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in developing process documentation, identifying risks, implementing and monitoring controls.

  • Knowledge of compliance supervision and examination.

  • Minimum of 5 years of functional experience with Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) systems used to manage privacy and compliance ( Privacera preferred)

  • Minimum of 5 years experience across auditing standards and control structures

What could set you apart

  • Experience as an auditor or compliance reviewer preferred

  • Knowledge with laws and regulations that impact Equifax – FCRA, GLB, UDAAP, Dodd-Frank

  • Knowledge of Equifax businesses and companies.

  • Experience in SQL or other database querying /analytical tools

  • Strong analytical capability with a keen sense for data and analytics, inductive reasoning and “what-if” analysis skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with a focus on informing, influencing and relationship building.

  • Demonstrated leadership and partnering skills, including success in influencing outside of direct reporting line.   

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and manage multiple projects. 

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
