Equifax is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join our world-class Data and Analytics team. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging statistical and analytical projects to develop new products and solutions that drive revenue growth. You will have the opportunity to work using cutting edge cloud technology and advanced statistical techniques. This role will own analytical projects from beginning to end. This includes discussions with internal and external customers during discovery and design phases, interfacing with internal technology teams for data requirements and extraction, performing the statistical analysis, building predictive models and presenting the findings.

What you’ll do

  • Work with team leads, other Statisticians and business partners on the formulation and application of new modeling solutions for a variety of industry problems across the consumer banking and lending, communications and automotive verticals 

  • Manipulate large data sets, integrate diverse data sources, data types and data structures into solutions 

  • Develop analytical approaches including translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of modeling data sets, algorithm development and presenting results and recommendations to internal and external customers 

  • Research new and advanced predictive modeling techniques as appropriate for a specific solution 

  • Work closely with IT development teams to communicate requirements and ensure quality of end-to-end deliverables of developed analytical solutions 

  • Create detailed documentation outlining design and technical specifications of each solution 

  • Work with Governance and Compliance teams to ensure models are compliant with regulations and internal policies 

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within entire Data and Analytics group

What experience you need

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other related discipline 

  • 5-7 years of statistical and/or data analysis experience in the credit risk, telecommunications, financial services, marketing, fraud, or insurance analytics arena 

  • 5-7 years quantitative analytical experience, including hands-on modeling and use of machine learning techniques such as Neural Networks, Gradient Boosting and Random Forests 

  • 5-7 years experience manipulating and processing a variety of big data assets 

  • 5-7 years experience in SQL and statistical languages such as Python or R

What could set you apart

  • Strong knowledge of credit bureau data and other data assets including alternative data 

  • Experience working in GCP environment preferred 

  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner 

  • Strong project management and communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and handle fast-paced and challenging job demands
