Kount, an Equifax company, is looking for a creative, high-energy, diverse, and driven VP, Software Engineering leader with hands-on technical skills to manage software engineering teams and related project initiatives. This resource will be based in our Boise, ID office.

What you’ll do  

  • Provide technology leadership across Kount’s software engineering teams. 

  • Will be responsible for leading a team of technical managers that oversee the  design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and improvement of great software

  • Manage critical technology project priorities and deadlines 

  • Partner with other technology teams to translate functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design

  • Partner with security partners to ensure applications are developed with the strongest security patterns.

  • Understand BDD/TDD practices, code review and analysis techniques, automated testing frameworks(Cucumber, Selenium, Fitnesse etc.) and open source agile testing frameworks.

  • Participate in code and design reviews to maintain our high development standards

  • Work with product owners, UX and other business partners to define work for the team

  • Provide direct oversight, leadership, guidance and direction to assigned technical/operations support staff aimed at providing a great client experience in accordance with established service level agreements

  • Create, manage budget and create and present business cases to request capital/funding

  • Frequently interact with and present to BU senior leadership team as well as senior level leaders across functional COE areas.

  • Identify, recruit, develop and retain a high performance team of professional leaders.

  • Mentor other engineers, having a voice in defining our challenging technical culture, and helping to build a fast-paced team

What experience you need  

  • BS or MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent job experience required

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional technology experience to include strong skills across developing, testing and releasing complex software into production

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership capacity (must include experience leading software development teams) 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in highly regulated environments

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience of digital transformation experience utilizing modern application development principles on public cloud environments - GCP or AWS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading integrations successfully. 

What could set you apart

  • Experience with developing or leading teams that developed high performing systems on modern architecture (Microservices, API First, Cloud Native Designs)

  • Experience managing Operations & Product Support teams

  • Strong experience in understanding security protocols and frameworks

  • Experience in developing applications with strong security requirements

  • Experience in debugging, diagnosing, and trouble-shooting complex, production software

  • ECommerce Platforms experience

  • Experience working in either FinTech and/OR Identity/Fraud environments
