Product Manager - Open Banking

  • London, United Kingdom
  • Marketing
  • Full time
  • J00137467

Equifax is looking for a Product Manager to join our Open Banking team to drive product strategy and give direction to our future roadmap. The role will see you working across a variety of sectors, heading up our B2B and B2C ambitions as we scale Open Banking in the UK, collaborating with FinTechs and distribution partners to achieve great product-market-fit.

The role will see you working closely with Sales, Commercial, Marketing and Technology teams to deliver new products to the market and get the best performance from our existing product, our Connect API, Categorisation Engine and Tokenisation Service.  This is a high-growth area of the business with big ambitions for 2022 and beyond as Open Banking at Equifax and the wider world gains maturity.

What You’ll Do

  • Steer the UK Open Banking product roadmap, leading on prioritisation decisions, build trade-offs, roadmap funding and product design, working closely with internal teams, partners and customers.

  • Work closely with Marketing and Sales to achieve product-market fit for new ideas, as well as challenging the placement of our existing product set and listing to voice of customer feedback.

  • Create space for innovation and rapid prototyping to ensure that we stay ahead of the competition.

  • Coach and develop the Open Banking community at Equifax on agile product development, working with technology counterparts on lean software development practices (like test and learn, MVPs etc).

  • Provide visionary leadership to the Open Banking community at Equifax to ensure buy-in from development teams, peers and senior executives on our Open Banking strategy.

  • Work closely with Development, Data and Analytics, and Programme Management teams to execute the Open Banking roadmap, taking accountability for milestones and deliverables.

  • Be the voice and champion for Open Banking internally and externally. Be an active member of the community externally, attending events and conferences to gather and share Open Banking insight

What Experience You’ll Need

  • Experience working with software as a service and cloud products.

  • Strong passion for FinTech and Open Banking.

  • Experience delivering products to market in financial services or a data business.

  • Innovative, creative, and nimble with the ability to overcome obstacles to solve problems.

  • Superb communication skills with the ability to lead and influence those around you.

  • Excellent collaboration skills, ability to share knowledge with peers and multi-functional teams.

  • Flexible and responsive with ability to adapt to rapid change in direction or business priority

Other

Additional context surrounding the role. Equifax acquired its Open Banking technology partner, AccountScore in Q1 2021, with the majority of 2021 to-date seeing the two businesses come together, both in terms of technology platforms and teams merging.

As the AccountScore business moves further into the Equifax business, our goal is to add maturity to its ways of working while maintaining its agile and nimble approach to delivering great products. This role will be key to balancing that strive for maturity vs pace and is widely considered to be the testbed for pushing the boundaries on agile product development.

Given the area's infancy, Open Banking has little in the way of legacy technology and has been largely immune from transformation work (with the exception of a migration to Equifax’s cloud platform). Our goal is to use this as an ecosystem for innovation and fast product development, testing out new products in MVP fashion.
