Director, Change Management (Hybrid Work Location)

Job Synopsis:

Equifax has embarked on a “rarely been done before” transformational journey in the Canadian market that will secure its place as sector leader and lay the foundation for new and innovative solutions for our customers and consumers. Our transformation program is the key enterprise strategy that transitions our legacy mainframe, on-premise service to a completely redesigned cloud-based service. This is a flagship digital program not just for us but for Google. In the process, we are re-designing our products and services, and our ways of working; deploying change to over 3000 clients and 500 employees.
The newly created Change Management leader role combines an exciting mix of opportunity and challenge to create and influence, build organizational change capacity and normalize complex technical projects within an Enterprise environment.
The role is responsible for leading the development and facilitation of Change Management, inclusive of change plans, for the implementation of a large-scale transformational program across Equifax Canada. The successful candidate will need to comfortably toggle between leading and rolling up their sleeves to execute and get the job done.
The role will include internal corporate, client, supplier; logistics and employee focused change management and adoption programs. In addition, the role will support all change management, communication, training and engagement activities across various working teams, ensuring these activities are built into project plans and owned and managed by Business stakeholders and identified SMEs.
Building on our efforts to date, this incumbent is responsible for designing, communicating, establishing and maintaining a change management framework, rooted in best practices and processes for our business; educating and implementing tools and templates to support building change capability and establishing a consistent approach to change management across the organization. The framework will establish KPIs to measure success.
With a strong ability to impact and influence, this incumbent will work with senior leaders and teams, partnering cross-functionally to drive faster user adoption and proficiency on enterprise wide technology and business projects with changes impacting the workforce to ensure that the desired business results are achieved with high acceptance.
This role requires both a hands-on approach and a holistic and strategic view. The ideal incumbent is highly versed with technology and technology implementations as well as enterprise wide projects, having led similar large change efforts previously. Importantly, this role is able to anticipate, translate and communicate change and impacts through the lens of our key transformation stakeholders – employees and customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive the transformation and change management strategy for Canada Business & transformation projects by supporting key projects; prioritizing requests; determining the impact and scope of changes; developing and gaining alignment on change management plans with senior management; developing risk mitigation strategies; identifying and addressing opportunities for continuous improvement and managing vendors and third parties.

  • Assess and manage needs for change-related resources.

  • Consult with change and project teams on change management processes and issues by ensuring best practices are captured for future reference and utilization; design a change management framework appropriate to the environment; assessing the impact of changes; providing guidance on change management communication and training plans; identifying resistance gaps and developing solutions to address; partnering with senior leadership to eliminate barriers and ensure execution of key change management plans; leading the facilitation of knowledge transfer to partners; and aligning people, processes, technology, information, and security to drive delivery of change management strategy.

  • Drive awareness of change management programs by leading the measurement, tracking, monitoring and reporting of progress; developing a change management scorecard and reporting strategies with key performance indicators (KPIs); providing progress and status summaries of projects for senior leadership review; and presenting and participating in initiatives with steering committees and executives. Ensure Communications, training, and supporting materials are developed and integrated within the Change Management plan.

  • Working collaboratively with the PMO office, and business functions, support the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning.

  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, the change team, managers, co-workers, or other key stakeholders; soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Monitor for and assess risk related to concurrent organizational change. Design and conduct retrospectives and other evaluation strategies and recommend changes to processes and practices to sustain and gain on change.

  • Provide support and development opportunities for the implementation team by coaching and mentoring; building a team-based work environment; establishing performance expectations and conducting regular assessment of execution of plans and providing feedback for performance evaluations; providing feedback for recognition and rewards; coaching for success and improvement.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of working knowledge of organization development and experience managing large-scale, multi-faceted change management initiatives.

  • Strong project planning, project management, and project integration experience; Management Certification preferred (PMI/PMP, PROSCI, CCMP™, others)

  • Previous experience on advanced technology implementation projects, preferably experience in an Enterprise consulting and/or client-facing environment; working knowledge of emerging technologies, including understanding of cloud based services

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments, and at the same time, demonstrated capabilities in teamwork and leadership, including the desire and eagerness to coach and assist in the professional development of colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and conflict resolution and apply effective, collaborative problem-solving approaches.
