Leveraging his/her specialized depth and breadth of expertise in the Strategic Communications field, the Senior Director of Strategic Communications for Workforce Solutions (WS) ideates, drives and executes communications strategies in support of WS business model, a multi-side platform that ties together the two critical sides of the business, its Employer Services and Verifications services through The Work Number®  the largest central repository of payroll information. Working with internal leaders in the B2B, HR/Talent technology, Financial and Professional Services, Government, Healthcare and Emerging Markets, as well as with Equifax WS’s Agency of Record (AOR), the Leader of Strategic Communications is key to achieve WS success to accelerate growth beyond 1 Billion in revenue through focus on key growth drivers to provide differentiated value to Employers and Verifier Clients. 

What you’ll do

  • Provide senior-level communications leadership across the entire WS business, managing or coordinating activities across all communications channels,  including external communications [public relations, media relations, influencers and analysts], client and customer communications, internal communications and crisis/issues management, and event and tradeshow strategies. In close collaboration with the business and the corporate communications team, this individual will bring all elements together into a cohesive communications strategy and model for the Workforce Solutions business to accelerate growth.

  • Provide counseling to the SMO of WS Marketing and the President of WS as well as to senior leaders of the different sectors/vertical markets, in addition to partnering with leaders across other partner business units and with corporate communications.

  • Lead client communications strategies for the business, with a focus on influencing customer perception of our organization and informing on strategic work streams occurring within our business unit across multiple channels.

  • Lead crisis /issues communications efforts for WS, focusing on deployment and leadership of processes and strategies to protect the organization’s reputation.   This person will also serve as liaison with corporate crisis teams to drive alignment, bringing business unit context to key work streams.

  • Oversee an agency that provides support with media relations, industry analysts’ relations, public affairs, crisis and issues management and executive engagement, integrating messaging across all media channels and creating new momentum for WS through relevant and innovative outreach.

What experience you need

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of experience in Marketing, Brand, or a Communications specific function.

  • 5+ years’ of leadership experience driving large-scale Communications, Media Relations, and/or Brand efforts.

  • Proven, hands-on experience both in-house and agency, developing and executing integrated public relations, client and customer communications, internal communications and crisis communications strategies.

  • Experience leading a B2B and/or corporate communications functions (including PR) in an organization with a well-known brand and interaction with multiple internal clients in a variety of sectors/vertical markets.

  • Proven achievement in building and leading a communications function; a high level of commitment and enthusiasm to take on complex, challenging situations in a dynamic organization; and the ability to envision, articulate, and realize both process and program improvements within the communications department.
