What you’ll do:

 

The Monitoring & Testing Lead/ Internal Auditor will mitigate compliance risks by reviewing, testing and continuously improving the monitoring and internal control function for the Australia & New Zealand region.  The role requires you to conduct monitoring and internal controls activity for various regulatory and contractual obligations as well as provide direction to the business on observations or gaps.  

You will embrace exposure across various assignments that includes covering Credit Bureaus, Credit Rating Agency, Residential Builder Underwriters, and other business processes. In certain cases, you will also coordinate and manage the various audits by the Internal Auditors, External auditors, first line reviewers and Regulatory auditors. This is a genuine opportunity to diversify across a complexity of systems where you will embrace continuous learning and work in partnership with an experienced team. 

 

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor degree in Law/Commerce and a combined 10 years internal audit experience with a minimum 3 years in compliance 

  • Previous experience in internal controls testing & monitoring in a Banking/Financial Services/FinTech/IT organisation 

  • Proven ability to maintain independence and confidentiality at the highest levels with the capability to perform the review at expert level with minimum supervision. 

  • Previous experience in adapting the compliance program within the monitoring and internal control framework in response to changes in laws and industry standards 

  • Strong financial acumen with the confidence to provide relevant and timely recommendations to senior stakeholders and leadership team. 

  • Excellent project management skills, communication, reporting and presentation skills 

  • Expert understanding of relevant laws and industry standards
