Assistant General Counsel, M&A

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Counsel, Mergers & Acquisitions will be on the front lines leading Equifax’s growth initiatives. You will provide strategic direction on complex M&A activities, work closely with cross-functional teams, and negotiate agreements. The Assistant General Counsel will be the critical point of contact for all stakeholders in the due diligence process, M&A planning and execution.

What You’ll Do:

  •  Provide legal counsel to business leaders on global mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic investments.

  • Draft and negotiate all transaction related documents, and manage the legal due diligence process in addition to directing  the timeline and coordination of all  transaction related activities in partnership with the Corporate Development team. 

  • Provide findings to business and legal leaders regarding indepth research related to transactions and other legal activities

  • Apply a business-minded approach to meet clients needs, build relationships internally and externally, and work cross functionally with other Legal teams as needed

  • Engage an innovative and curious approach to anticipate legal issues and resolve difficult sensitive situations or diplomatically and with a high degree of confidentiality

What experience you need  

  • Minimum of 5 years handling and managing M&A transactions as an attorney in a firm and/or corporation

  • Active Bar membership

What could set you apart

  • Fluency in Spanish 

  • Georgia Bar member

  • In-house experience in matrixed organization

  • Experience structuring, negotiating, and documenting venture capital and minority equity investments
