Director, Records Management

The Director, Records Management will report to the Vice President, Data Privacy, and will provide subject matter expertise on records management and oversee the Records Management program across the organization. The position will partner with Security, Technology, Legal, Data & Analytics, and other stakeholders, to ensure that retention periods are appropriately defined and that the Records Management program is operating effectively. This position will manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
 

The Director, Records Management will be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges as we continue to mature our Records Management program across the organization.

What You'll Do:  

  • Provide records management governance guidance on all matters relating to the identification, management, maintenance, use and disposal of Company records regardless of format (paper and electronic), including in cloud environments. 

  • Oversee the Records Management program, including monitoring compliance with the Global Records Retention Policy, managing records attestations, and responding to general inquiries. 

  • Work closely with key stakeholders to define retention periods for new products, services, and data, providing subject matter expertise and advising on techniques and best practices for effective records management. 

  • Support the development, socialization, and execution of records management training, and draft processes and standards to support the Records Management program. 

  • Manage program metrics and reporting which includes reports and readouts to Senior Leadership.

What Experience You Need:

  • 5+ years' experience in records management experience, including physical and electronic records management on-site, off-site, and in the cloud.

  • Bachelor's degree with a focus on business administration or similar field.

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Certified Records Manager (CRM) 

  • Experience with ServiceNow.

  • Experience in executing records management improvement initiatives.

  • Understanding of consumer credit reporting or information services industry.

  • Knowledge of laws and regulations that impact Equifax (e.g., FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, Dodd-Frank, GDPR, CCPA).

  • eDiscovery experience. 

  • Demonstrated understanding of records management methodologies and concepts, including the application of records management concepts in cloud environments, including data warehouses.
