What you’ll do
As a Senior Data Governance Modeller you will play a pivotal role in shaping and managing the company’s framework for storing data to ensure its integrity, quality and compliance. Leveraging your expertise in data governance and data modelling frameworks you will be responsible for designing and implementing data standards, policies and best practice that align with the business objectives and regulatory requirements.
You’ll be translating complex business needs into scalable data models supporting solutions, driving consistency across data assets while enabling data driven decision making. This position requires a blend of technical acumen and business strategic thinking whilst ensuring strong governance of data sources, models, attributes and analytic platform. A key focus for the role is to take the lead in managing cross-functional programs, developing, recommending and implementing improvements to existing data, metadata and governance processes and controls and communicating these to the business and stakeholders as required. Collaboration with Product Managers is critical to understanding data requirements and exploring improvement initiatives.
You will be involved in working with Equifax Global to implement A/NZ data governance standards, combined with understanding and rationalising current databases, data flows, tools and methods especially in the context of our Commercial and Consumer Exchange programs. You will be providing thought leadership regarding the use and application of data & analytics for competitive advantage.
This role will have a high level of autonomy with attention to detail being crucial to the success of the role.
What experience you need
-
5-7 years of hands-on experience in data governance and data modelling, particularly applied to common and specific business uses

Experience designing and developing relational and non-relational data models in a variety of database technologies (Specifically Collibra, Microsoft, GCP etc.)

Good understanding of cloud and on prem technologies, structured and unstructured data, streaming and reposed data

Experience in designing data governance frameworks and solutions and orchestrating policy guidelines

Experience with data modelling techniques and tools

Understanding and expertise in working with data catalogues, metadata and operational / regulatory risk is also required

Key deliverables

Design and implement data governance controls and operating models to ensure data management and governance policies and practices are met

Contribute to designing and improving data management, governance and data modelling processes including data lineage and data quality

Design and implement metadata solutions to ensure robust definitions are available in a central metadata repository

Consult and coach diverse teams on data management and governance practices

Build strong collaborative working relationships with stakeholders from business teams including Data Governance specialists, Technical specialists, Product Managers and Solutions Consultants, Legal & Compliance to get specialist advice and implement solutions

Undertake data governance activities including maintaining and updating metadata, business rules and policies

Conduct change management activities
