Join our Consumer Segment Technology team in Sydney as an Engineering Tech Lead, driving the transformation of our core consumer platforms. Leveraging Equifax’s significant data and technology investments, you’ll lead the transition of a critical legacy system from AWS to a new GCP-based global platform, enhancing our data-driven decision-making and AI/ML capabilities. You’ll be the technical leader responsible for building a best-in-class, automated, and secure platform that empowers our people, business, and communities.

This role involves guiding multiple squads, both onshore and offshore, with a 30-40% hands-on technical component, including coding in .NET and SQL. You’ll be instrumental in uplifting our internal technical capabilities. In addition to leading, you'll conduct code reviews, deliver technical designs and architecture work, and drive process improvement and automation within the engineering practice.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the software engineering for a critical platform, specifically guiding its migration from AWS to GCP, with a focus on .NET and SQL-based components.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior engineers onshore and collaborate with offshore resources across global locations.

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including product, business, and sales partners.

  • Leverage deep expertise in full-stack .NET software development and the SQL stack, alongside experience with public cloud platforms like GCP and AWS.

  • Ensure compliance with Equifax secure software development guidelines and best practices, maintaining QE, DevSec, and FinOps KPIs.

  • Lead sprint planning, retrospectives, and other agile team activities.

  • Drive architectural decision-making for product features, refactoring, and end-of-life (EOSL) decisions.

  • Create and deliver clear and concise technical presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What Experience You Need:

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience in an enterprise environment, with strong hands-on expertise in .NET, microservices and the SQL stack (T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, etc.).

  • Proven ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship to senior engineers.

  • 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure), including designing and developing cloud-native solutions.

  • Extensive experience working in agile environments.

  • Ability to dive deep into .Net and SQL code to solve complex issues.

  • Must have valid and unrestricted working rights in Australia.

What Could Set You Apart:

  • Experience migrating complex business and engineering environments to new cloud platforms.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguous environments.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience with Angular or similar modern frontend frameworks.
