Synopsis of the role
The SVP Technology / CTO Equifax Canada will be responsible for Canada’s information technology vision, strategy and execution, leading the Technology team. The SVP Technology will partner with the business to drive the company’s strategic priorities, treating technology as a strategic executional partner. A business-focused approach to issues and a thorough understanding of business processes, coupled with Information Technology/systems expertise, will enable this leader to help drive top line growth, while effectively managing the operational costs.
What you’ll do

Partner with the President and executive leadership team to align technology strategy and initiatives with the company’s business priorities, vision and goals

Provide leadership across the full spectrum of the Canadian technology function including software engineering, cloud architecture, infrastructure, automation tools (for example), leveraging a breadth of experience and skill, preferably in a cloud-native technology environment

Leverage a depth of technological expertise, strong business acumen and top notch leadership skills to strengthen, mentor, develop and lead a high performing technology team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement

Define and execute the end-to-end technology strategy, with a focus on cloud-native adoption, AI and optimization.

Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating and integrating new technologies that provide competitive advantage.

Champion a values-driven culture focused on accountability, results and engagement. Lead by example leveraging strong communication skills, executive presence, relationship building expertise and team leadership strengths to improve and/or adapt the team and culture to drive sustainable results.

Drive technology innovation and digital initiatives, ensuring a flexible and scalable technology ecosystem, all in the context of partnering with the business to support business priorities.

Drive best practices in software development, DevOps and cloud-native operations.
What experience you need
-
Demonstrated experience (minimum 15 years) successfully driving and implementing an end-to-end technology strategy and roadmap as a hands-on, senior technology leader in a world class product and platform development organization, while optimizing costs & resources, and ensuring scalability, preferably in a cloud native environment.

Proven track record leading and managing technology-enabled transformations that drive measurable business value

Possesses a balance of deep technology experience and leadership in a data intense, high volume processing space where data and security are critical and software is core to the product

Proven experience shaping technology vision, strategy, KPI’s and metrics, translating into a compelling portfolio of products and solutions aligned with the broader business priorities.

Demonstrated experience effectively managing a large budget and revenue streams, including forecasting and vendor cost optimization.

Demonstrated experience managing geographically dispersed global teams ~ across multiple global locations, developing onshore and offshore capabilities that support scalable delivery model

Proven experience designing and managing an effective IT governance framework across the spectrum of IT service delivery.

Proven track record understanding and integrating relevant industry trends into future focused strategies

Demonstrated track record presenting and influencing executive leadership teams

Proven experience designing and building platforms and services leveraging a customer-centric approach

Demonstrates a solution oriented, forward thinking mindset with comfort operating in the ‘grey’ /and able to lead in times of ambiguity

Experience leading complex mergers and acquisitions including effective change management on both culture and technology fronts.
