This senior role in the Global Data Office will manage Equifax’s implementation of data governance and controls focused on data privacy, sharing / use, and retention. The candidate will play a key role in developing and improving data compliance and oversight capabilities and operations, focusing on automation, continuous improvement, and the use of innovative technology solutions to protect and limit the use of sensitive data.
Equifax has a hybrid work schedule that allows for 2 days of remote work (Monday and Friday), with 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) every week.
This role will work the required onsite days at our Equifax office in Alpharetta or midtown ATL.

What you’ll do

Understand and communicate data management, privacy, contractual (e.g., permitted and prohibited use), and information protection and security needs of the organization, including through the design and documentation of related governance frameworks and controls

Define and design the enterprise and platform wide data management framework, as well as underlying policies, standards, and procedures, that ensures Equifax data is properly collected, stored, maintained, used, retained and disposed in alignment with second line of defense and other requirements

Architect, design, and drive implementation of business capabilities for efficient management and oversight of compliance with data policies and standards, focusing on automation, strong controls, and user enablement

Connect with global teams to continuously improve business capabilities and share best practices

Manage a daily and periodic operation of surveillance on the movement of sensitive data within Equifax platforms

Work with compliance, privacy, information security, data, IT, product, and analytics teams globally to evangelize and guide implementation of and improvements to policy and standard requirements, including regional considerations

Establish plans and routines, and manage data capabilities, that support execution of the enterprise data strategy

Design, develop and execute enterprise training on data risk, data governance and compliance requirements and capabilities
What experience you need

Bachelor's degree in related discipline required; Master's degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered

7-10 years of experience across risk management (operational / technology), data management, privacy, and information security for financial services data

Strong experience managing data across its lifecycle in both on prem / traditional and cloud architectures and technologies

Demonstrated experience with data and risk management process and control design and operation

Demonstrated experience documenting and communicating guidelines, policies, standards, and frameworks across levels and functions in a large enterprise

Experience with data management (Informatica, Collibra etc.) and data privacy / protection tools (Privacera, BigID, Varonis, ForcePoint etc.), and leveraging those tools to control and support data privacy and security capabilities

Experience with SQL and BI tools (Looker, Tableau, BigQuery, etc.)
What could set you apart

Strong knowledge of US data sharing and privacy laws and regulations (FCRA, GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, etc.), and data structures and controls (segregation, tokenization, etc.) that maximize integration and compliant use

Familiarity with global and regional data sharing and privacy laws and regulations

CIPP/CIPM/CIPT/CISM/CISSP or similar certifications

Experience with or technical aptitude for designing and evangelizing advanced privacy methods (e.g., synthetic data, differential privacy, etc.)

Experience leveraging design thinking and agile methodologies and tools to drive collaborative execution

Strong analytical orientation, with an ability to identify and define problems, extract key information from data to test and verify the cause of the problem, and develop solutions
