The Tribe Leader is accountable for the assigned systems, operations, finances, development, performance as well as the employees for one of the Technology Tribes in the ANZ region. Working closely with IT and the Tribe’s IT Leadership team, the Tribe Leader ensures that the Tribe is delivering on solutions in sprints while adhering to and continuously improving on the Engineering Handbook principles. The Tribe Leader also ensures all delivery is compliant with relevant Equifax policies and procedures and follows Agile delivery methodology principles. The role is accountable for achieving the Tribe’s key performance indicators.
The Tribe Leader co-creates and executes the Tribe strategy by collaborating with relevant leaders from Technology, Product, Operations, D&A, Finance and Delivery organizations.
The Tribe Leader has an in-depth understanding of the Tribe’s application portfolio, risks, issues, total cost of ownership and key investment initiatives. The Tribe Leader is a member of the Extended A/NZ Technology Leadership team.
What You’ll Do

Accountable for Tribe's operations, performance, and people, along with financial and budgetary responsibility.

Technical owner for all Tribe’s applications and platforms.

Engage in and improve the software delivery lifecycle – from inception and design, through development, deployment, operation, and refinement.

Measure tribe performance across people, process and technology and continuously and demonstrably improve.

Build and maintain global technology and partner relationships to ensure success of the tribe.

Liaise with Finance to ensure budgets are being tracked to and aligned with forecasts, labour and non-labour.

Reduce legacy footprint and increase cloud adoption, in accordance with EFX transformation principles.

Support services prior to production via infrastructure design, software platform development, load testing, capacity planning and launch reviews.

Maintain services during deployment and in production by measuring and monitoring key performance and service level indicators including availability, latency, and overall system health.

Primary interface and escalation point for leaders (GM-level / Head of-level) across Product, Platform, Operations and D&A or similar.

Ensure that all Squads have their organisational blockers removed.

Assist to facilitate capacity conflicts.

Work with Technology ELT to help run A/NZ Technology organisation as a one team.

What experience you need
- 15+ years of experience in IT Industry driving technology and innovation
- BS or MS degree in a STEM major or equivalent job experience required

Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to solve business problems with technology
-
10+ years experience building and operating enterprise scale apps or platforms, preferably leveraging public cloud technologies.

Experience in Software Engineering, Architecture, Technology Program or Project Management, Lean Process Engineering, Operations, etc.

Experience with Agile and/or SAFe delivery frameworks

Demonstrated experience in enterprise risk management

Excellent relationship builder with demonstrated ability across functions and businesses

Experience in leading large multi-span, multi-layered teams

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others to gain support in a virtual environment, along with strong stakeholder management skills

- Experience in COBOL, DB2 in a mainframe environment
- Developing with modern JDK (v1.7+) or ScalaJa
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, Kafka and/or Hadoop or NoSQL such as Cassandra
- Experience working with open source frameworks; preferably Spring, though we would also consider Ruby, Apache Struts, Symfony, Django, etc.
- Automated Testing: JUnit, Selenium, LoadRunner, SoapUI
- Strong knowledge of appropriate programming and scripting languages – Be proficient in .Net, .Net framework 4.5, WCF or related technology, AJAX, and JSON, and some type of automated testing
