Head Infrastructure

Synopsis of the role:
The Infrastructure Head of ECIS owns and manages all ECIS infra and platform assets. The key accountability of this function is to own and manage all infra assets within ECIS, which include end user assets, data center assets, network
assets, devices, security. The accountability, includes, but not limited to, the ongoing management, governance, regulatory, and compliance for these infra and platform assets. 

What you’ll do 
The broad range of responsibilities this includes 

Infrastructure Solution Architecture 

  • Creating and maintaining an accurate and up-to-date inventory of all infra and platform assets used in ECIS.

  • This includes devices, licenses, subscriptions for all types of devices and platform software such as OS, databases, middleware, end user software etc. 

  • Plan and implement right sized infra and platform capacities for current production and future growth to

  • ensure that all performance SLAs for data ingestion, online/batch PRs and BMs, Analytics and Insights etc.,are adhered to 100% of the times. 

Execution Excellence 

  • o Ensure high availability and uptime of all infrastructure platforms and services. Governance, Risk, and Controls (GRC) 


  • Implement 100% governance and controls on all infra and platform assets to ensure compliance with ITIL standards and regulatory provisions all the time.

  • Review and control all vendor accesses to ECIS infra assets and implement governance and controls mechanisms to ensure authorized and secure accesses all the time. 

Budgets and Financials 

  • Prepare yearly IT budget (CAPEX and OPEX) for the Infrastructure requirements Issue vendor POs on time 

  • Work closely with finance to provide accurate and timely cost and spend projections so as to ensure that finance is able to accurately account for the financials into the P&L. 

  • Review and track all vendor invoices to their corresponding outcomes / SLA performance and milestones and/or timesheets before sending the invoices onward to finance to effect the payments. 

  • Ensure that there are no SLA performance breaches that require raising penalty provisions. 

  • Ensure timely vendor payments 

Resource Management 

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive list of all resources in the IT infra organization including ECIS FT, PEC FT, as well as third party vendors along with their skillsets.

  • Ensure that each third-party vendor resource has a defined exit date and the exit procedures are carried out in accordance with the defined exit date. 

 Be the accountable executive to lead the India Infrastructure Engineering team to achieve the aforementioned


 Develop strong working relationships with local stakeholders like application teams, Product, Ops, HR. Finance, International P&E, Finance, HR etc. 
Strategic and Operational Reporting 

  • Establish processes, controls, metrics and associated reporting 

  • Measure and report on departmental KPIs for both external and internal consumption. Champion efficiencies in reporting standards using tooling and other opportunities. 

Process Standardization 

  • Sets the standards and working practices for the infra team 

  • Consolidate and communicate best practices 

  • Innovate and lead on tooling to support the wider function 

Vendor Management 

  • Key senior contact for Technology Infrastructure Vendor Management 

  • Ensure periodic vendor governance cadences with senior management of the vendor staff Review and track Supplier SLAs and KPIs 

  • Responsible for Third Party Assurance and setting framework to govern supplier relationships. 

Technology Controls 

  • Manage Infra Risk Register 

  • Facilitating Audit, Risk and Controls Assurance across the department 

  • Oversight of Internal and External audits 

Business Change Implementation 

  • Ensures that project leads adhere to the agreed portfolio management approach and timetable, and provide appropriate information to agreed timelines and accuracy 

  • Produces reports as appropriate for portfolio governance, including making recommendations for changes to the portfolio 

  • Collects, summarizes and reports on portfolio KPIs 

  • Ensures quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure 

  • Manages the project change control procedure so that changes to project scope, timescale, or budget are properly approved 

What experience you need 

  • Management of / working at a senior level Infra Head position with BFSI organizations, minimum 5 years of serving as the Head -Infrastructure in mid to large size organizations

  • Exposure to RBI submissions, audits, and assessments 

  • Experience of at least 10 years in delivering enterprise business solutions

  • Has demonstrated ability to lead a team and is able to strategically influence the executive leadership in driving change

  • Proven ability to work with others to achieve results and proactively address sources of conflict and emotion with focus on the best solution
