Platform Engineer - VDI

The Service Edge Computing team is searching for a Platform Engineer - VDI to engineer, implement, and support appropriate virtual desktop solutions for Equifax using Citrix Cloud DaaS. 

This resource will be working with Citrix Netscaler and must have strong knowledge of Windows Server 2019 and above. 

The Platform Engineer - VDI will independently lead problem determination in multiple technology domains, engaging with end users from other business units, application teams, and other infrastructure teams as required.

Providing guidance and mentorship to team members and consultative guidance to other teams and business units as appropriate.

Equifax has a hybrid work schedule that allows for 2 days of remote work (Monday and Friday), with 3 days onsite (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) of each week.

This resource will be required to work from the Equifax office location in Reston, VA.

What you will do 

  • Leading the support and maintenance of a specific platform or application including creation of new environments, software upgrades, and tuning.

  • Overseeing the creation and amendment of automation scripts and supporting documentation.

  • Provide software deployment services for QA and production environments.

  • Oversee the application performance monitoring and tuning.

  • Manage protecting the uptime and performance of the application 

  • Provide knowledge and expertise in the development and operational support and maintenance for a range of applications and tools. 

  • Oversee for the installation, set up and support of third party software running on internal managed environments.

  • Oversee designing and setting up deployment procedures, setting up robust processes, monitoring production systems and managing configuration.

  • Provide mentorship to junior team members. 

  • Provide management guidance to junior team members.

What experience you will need 

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics), or equivalent job experience with an advanced certification in a key platform tool.

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.

What could set you apart 

  • 5+ years of experience in progressive roles from Administrator to Engineer.

  • Cloud Certification Strongly Preferred.

  • Experience with public cloud-related technologies a plus, to include:

    • Google Cloud Platform

    • Citrix Cloud

    • “Infrastructure as code” technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, etc.

    • Familiarity with immutable infrastructure concepts

  • Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktop (v1912 and later preferred).

  • Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM).

  • Citrix App Layering.

  • Ivanti Application Control and Ivanti Environment Manager.

  • Scripting experience eg. PowerShell - preferred.

  • Extensive application debugging experience utilizing Citrix tools, Microsoft System Internals Tools, Wireshark or other packet capturing tools, and ControlUp.

  • Background in networking, system administration, end user support would be preferred.
