Software Engineer

What you’ll do

• Provide basic application support monitoring.

  • Vulnerability Remediation

  • Patching (JDK,JRE, Kernel etc)

  • Upgrades ( Software/ Hardware etc )

  • Fortify/Container Scans

  • MSAG audits

  • Internal/External Audits

  • Security Mandates (New cloud images)

  • Weekly biweekly production data refresh

  • On call support

  • Entitlement certifications

  • CMDB updates

  • DR and Business Continuity Testing

  • EDQ reporting monitoring

  • Password and key rotations

  • Server health monitoring

• Creation of Incident tickets, managing information flow to Application Support   and Development.

• Provide First-Line support to internal customers in regards to new or existing automation.

• Deliver on service levels agreements and provide reports related to support metrics.

• Documentation of errors and directing them to Team members and Business Owners.

• Support and maintain existing solutions and system integration testing of all code prior to release.

• Support in 24/7 working environment

What experience you need  

• BS degree in a computer science or equivalent job experience required

• 3+ years of experience in Application Support

• Minimum of 1 years professional experience with emphasis in SDLC, production support, application development and building

• Minimum of 1 years experience as a developer with Java Spring Boot Framework and UI development (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, Angular and Bootstrap).

• Minimum of 1 years experience working with SQL databases and experience creating basic queries (Select, create, update and delete data) 

• Desirable experience with GCP and AWS

• Desirable experience working in Agile teams

• You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members at various levels, including business leaders

• UI development (e.g. HTML, JavaScript, Angular and Bootstrap)

• Source code control management systems (e.g. Git, GitHub) and build tools like Maven

• PostgreSQL, BigQuery, NoSQL databases (e.g. Cloud Bigtable, MongoDB, Neo4J)

• Support Tools (ELK Stack, Google Cloud Console, Google Sheets)

• Microservices (i.e,, REST/JSON, Swagger, Java, Spring boot, Kubernetes, Docker)

• Agile environments (e.g. Scrum, XP)

• Software development best practices such as TDD (e.g. JUnit), automated testing (e.g. Gauge, Cucumber, FitNesse), continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins, GoCD)

• Linux command line and shell scripting languages

• Atlassian tooling (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket)

• Experience working in financial services industry

• Experience working with open source frameworks; preferably Spring, though we would also consider Ruby, Apache Struts, Symfony, Django, etc.

• Automated Testing: JUnit, Selenium, Jmeter, SoapUI
