​Lead Business Intelligence Analyst

Equifax is seeking a Business Intelligence Lead to join our team within Consumer Regulated Systems (Information Technology). This is a hands-on technical role; you will also lead and coach several junior BI developers. You will report to the Sr Director of Data Engineering and Analytics.

What you’ll do

• The BI Lead is a hands-on senior BI developer/analyst role with a strong focus on end-user experience. 

• You will play an active role in setting BI standards and best practices in the frontend BI and reporting space of the DEA team. 20-30% of your time will be spent leading and coaching the rest of the team (3-4 junior developers).

• The role is focused on the design and implementation of BI self service reporting and Data Analytics frameworks to scale development and deployment of data explores across the DEA organization. You will develop semantic layers/data models using LookML. 

• Build complex Data Explores and integrations to deliver data from upstream Equifax cloud systems such as Firestore/BigQuery in Looker.

• Create reports, dashboards, and scorecards to enable robust decision making for our business users.

• Enable new data service methodologies and support the data needs of self-service capabilities to enhance functionality of our DEA data platform 

• The BI lead will test both functional and non-functional aspects of the Data explores built in Looker and work closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers and other BI Developers to speed up the efficient data delivery mechanisms via Self Service Reporting models.

• The BI lead  will be responsible for active participation in the Agile methodologies such as backlog grooming sessions and sprint deliveries making sure that the end to end Datasets are thoroughly tested as per the guidelines defined by the DEA Team so as to support the release cadence.

• Monitor data quality for accuracy, completeness, consistency, credibility, correctness, accessibility, compliance, confidentiality, efficiency, precision, traceability, understandability, availability, portability, and recoverability within the established data management policies

• Collaborate with subject matter experts, functional owners, data owners and analysts to define and implement data strategy, policies, controls, and programs to ensure key enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure, and reliable

• Coordinate all data activities with other organizational governance teams, working within established protocols and policies

What experience you need  

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

• At least 5 years of experience working in BI, analytics, data architecture, or a related field

• At least 2-3  years of experience working in a GCP big data environment (or another comparable cloud environment, i.e. AWS Redshift).

• Experience building complex data explores, Look ML models and self service reporting solutions using two or more of the following - BigQuery, Looker

• Experience with Dashboarding, KPI building and Data Analytics life cycle projects is a plus

• Proficiency in traditional report development methodologies

• Professional experience with SQL

• Strong understanding of BI and data warehousing principles and best practices, including data modeling and data integrations

• Proven ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
