What you’ll do
As a legal Counsel you will provide advice and assistance to the Equifax data, analytics and technology business in Australia. This is a hands-on role, with significant exposure to business stakeholders across multiple business units, with a focus on the Equifax HR Solutions business. Legal services you will provide include: drafting and negotiation of complex customer and supplier contracts, and legal and risk management advice on a variety of legal issues affecting the business, in particular privacy, data and consumer law; to assist the business in navigating a complex and evolving regulatory landscape; and involvement in business and technology transformation projects.
What experience do you need?

Tertiary qualified with undergraduate law degree & hold a current practicing certificate

A commercial lawyer with 3 to 5 years post qualification experience

Privacy/data law experience

Proven commercial contract drafting, review and negotiation skills

Reputable law firm experience is preferable

Ability to explain legal concepts in a commercial context

Demonstrated track record of rapid provision of concise, solutions-based legal advice

Commercially astute and customer-focused with good practical business judgement

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Capacity to assume responsibility and work independently

Strong organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with senior management

Ability to develop strong and cooperative working relationships at all levels of the business
