The Compliance Monitoring Manager (CMM) is a senior role responsible for providing expert regulatory support, guidance and oversight across the Equifax UK businesses. The role will sit within the Compliance, Risk and Data Privacy function.
They will support the Director of Compliance Oversight by delivering second line assurance reviews across the Equifax UK businesses. The role holder will have responsibility for planning and delivering compliance oversight and monitoring, and managing action tracking to ensure compliance with Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) regulatory requirements and to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards of good practice.
The CMM will be a key contact point for business stakeholders and stakeholders across our lines of defence. The CMM will also be required to identify any areas of weakness and risk of harm, any potential regulatory risks and any gaps in our systems and controls. The CMM will work with stakeholders to identify and agree any actions business functions may need to take to remediate. The role holder will be expected to undertake compliance monitoring/assurance and engage with training and guidance, quality assurance, policy writing and providing regulatory advice.
What you’ll do

Provide compliance oversight with regard to the laws and regulations applicable to the Equifax UK Businesses; in particular FCA Compliance, ICO Compliance Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG) Guidance and other Financial Crime related standards/laws.

Supporting and challenging as necessary when standards fall below regulatory or Equifax expectations and providing direction and guidance to help the business mitigate risks.

Play a lead role in the development, drafting and implementation of the Compliance Oversight and Data Privacy Plans, delivering oversight and assurance work to standards and timescales.

Identify new legislation, regulatory focus and emerging risks which will impact on risk and compliance within the business.

Work constructively with Compliance, Risk and Data Privacy colleagues on all matters, to support delivery of the Compliance Oversight and Data Privacy Assurance Plans and strategy.

Work with Risk, First, Second and Third Line functions to ensure adequate and effective risk management across Equifax UK.

Raise conduct and compliance risk awareness and understanding of risk management and identifying new areas of risk and determining the correct response.

Support the Director of Compliance Oversight, and the wider Compliance, Risk and Privacy function on all matters relating to compliance, regulatory and operational risk.

As required, Deputise for the Director on business matters and at committees/forums
What experience you need
-
Strong Compliance and/or Risk experience and/or equivalent working in a role such as compliance monitoring or internal audit

Working knowledge and understanding of conduct and/or regulatory risk, particularly with regards to governance, strategy, policies and defining risk appetites

Experience of developing and executing monitoring or assurance plans

Experience of working in an FCA regulated environment

Detailed knowledge of specific FCA rules (such as PRIN, COND, CONC and SYSC, DISP)

Detailed knowledge of Financial Services, in at least one of the following sectors: Retail Banking, Retail Lending (Consumer Credit & Mortgages) Payment Services or General Insurance
