Hyland is looking for a leadership driven Manager, R&D to join our content engineering team. This position will provide you the chance to work on Guardian, our innovative I-9 solution that is a cloud SaaS multi-tenant web application. We are looking for someone to provide strong leadership to the team as we make the push for the final transition to a true CI/CD environment. What you’ll do

The manager in R&D is responsible for developing and leading technical teams in the delivery of quality products in a timely manner. Collaborates with the R&D teams to ensure a cohesive product suite.

  • Provide managerial guidance to team members to complete their assigned duties and meet exceed expectations. Work with the R&D leadership team to provide appropriate resources to accomplish objectives

  • Lead teams to deliver new products functionality. Accountable for delivering quality products in timely manner

  • Recruit and retain employees; provide frequent performance and development feedback to team members

  • Identify training needs. Oversee the training and development of new and experienced staff

  • Work collaboratively across the organization demonstrating and fostering team work to achieve objectives

  • Ensure alignment and product vision through collaboration and frequent communication with technical leadership and product management

  • Execute department process and standards ensure alignment across the R&D organization. Continually improve processes within the span of control; actively contribute departmental and company process improvements. Accommodate and champion change within the department

  • Participate in professional associations, outreach activities, or appropriate educational opportunities to stay current on industry best practices and relevant technical skills

  • Comply with all corporate and department privacy and data security policies and practices

What experience you need  

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in software development quality assurance or related technical work

  • 7+ years of experience with C# and Angular are preferred

  • 7+ years of experience with DevOps and related tools such as Kubernetes, Docker and GCP preferred

What could set you apart

  • Demonstrated technical skills or effectively manage technical teams. 

  • Experience in Agile, or willingness to learn and follow Agile, Scrum or appropriate principles and methodologies. Experience in Test Driven Development desired

  • Adeptness to effectively collaborate with employees , customers and partners from divers, academic, professional and cultural backgrounds

  • Excellent  written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Fast learner, highly organized and experience in demonstrating focus and lead teams to complete highest priorities

  • Ability to learn and motivate employees

  • Self-motivated with follow through and attention to details

  • Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the job
