Synopsis of the role:

Equifax is seeking a Canadian Benefits Manager to lead benefit operations supporting the employee population in Canada. The Benefits Manager will implement, administer, and communicate benefit policies, programs, and procedures. He/she will ensure seamless operations of the benefits function to support a positive employee experience and that the organization retains a competitive benefits posture in the marketplace in line with business objectives and cost considerations.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage the development, implementation and administration of benefit programs and identify, develop, and implement process/operational improvements and manage employee benefits experience efforts including guidance, issue resolution, and feedback

  • Coordinate and facilitate employee benefit education, information and wellness sessions for employees

  • Examine benefit data and demographics to determine trends and options in order to make recommendations for changes as needed

  • Recommends and implements changes as a result of legislative, compliance or process efficiencies

  • Ensure benefit plans are managed and administered in line with governing plan documents; obtaining qualified opinions from consultants.

  • Manage the relationship with benefit vendors and suppliers to maintain appropriate service levels

  • Partner with Corporate Benefits to manage local pension plan and compliance requirements

  • Monitor legislative changes that affect the benefit programs, recommend and implement required program and administrative change

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of employee benefit communications including legally required plan documents, summary plan descriptions, enrollment communications, and notifications as well as the execution of employee benefit campaigns, resources, marketing material, and benefits web site content

  • Provide communication and support to HR Business Partners, keeping them informed and involved in changes and provide training to enable their support of employees

  • Responsible for the execution of compliance related activities including plan audits, government filings, etc.

What experience you need: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field; Benefits certifications a plus

  • 5-10 years of experience in benefits administration and operations

  • Experience working with a variety of benefit vendors and managing to appropriate levels of service

  • Depth of knowledge in benefit program administration and benefit compliance/regulatory matters

  • Strong excel and database skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French is required

  • Masters degree is a nice to have

  • Working Knowledge of G-suite is a plus
