Senior Data Scientist

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to manipulate large data sets, integrate diverse data sources, data types and data structures into solutions under management guidance. You will build experience developing analytical approaches to meet business requirements, which involves translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of training data sets and iterative algorithm development.  

This role will be based out of either or Atlanta or Alpharetta, GA office locations.

What you’ll do

  • Lead a team of Data Scientists on  multiple statistical deliverables leveraging business and technical expertise, in particular, generate score appends on customer files using generated scorecard algorithms

  • Manipulate large data sets, integrate diverse data sources, data types and data structures  into solutions

  • Develop analytical approaches to meet client requirements including translating requests into use cases, test cases, preparation of data sets,  algorithm development 

  • Research new and advanced predictive modeling techniques as appropriate for a specific solution

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop ideas and execute business plans

  • Work closely with IT development teams to communicate requirements and ensure quality of end-to-end deliverables of developed analytical solutions

  • Create detailed documentation outlining design and technical specifications of each solution

  • Work with Governance and Compliance teams to ensure models are compliant with regulations and internal policies

  • Manage and mentor junior data scientists

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within entire Data and Analytics group

  • Own and orchestrate development, monitoring, and decision making on models developed from inception through lifetime of models in production

What experience you need  

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or other related discipline

  • 7-10 years of statistical and/or data analysis experience in the credit risk, telecommunications, financial services, marketing, fraud, or insurance analytics arena

  • 5+ years of strong quantitative analytical experience, including hands-on and background in statistics, various modeling techniques, and machine learning algorithms

  • 5+ years of understanding of Neural Networks, Random Forest, Machine Learning and other innovate techniques

  • 5+ years of experience manipulating and processing a variety of big data assets

  • 7+ years of experience and proficient with R, Python or other programming/statistical languages, SQL

What could set you apart

  • Strong knowledge of credit bureau data and other data assets including alternative data

  • Experience working in GCP environment preferred

  • Experience with state of the art machine learning algorithms such as neural networks, support vector machines, ensemble models, random forest etc.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and handle fast-paced and challenging job demands and the ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner
