Senior Data Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will collaborate with peers and leaders from Data Analytics and Technology teams to solve complex business problems. You will have the opportunity to lead the design and implementation of large scale data insights and turn them into production solutions that improve decisions for financial institutions across mortgage, auto lending, fintech, credit card and other relevant industries.  You’ll be based in St. Louis, Missouri as a key member of a growing Equifax Workforce Solutions’ Data and Analytics organization.

What you’ll do

  • Develop strategies, standards and best practices in the areas of data wrangling, data integration and lead team adoption across analytical platforms

  • Develop sustainable, reusable, and rigorously tested data pipelines wrangled from disparate systems to drive faster, more informed decision making and actionable insights

  • Collaborate extensively with Data & Analytics, Marketing, and Technology leads to develop seamless consumption of data and drive actionable insights generation from Equifax’s new big data analytical platform

  • Actively participate in identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, conducting data quality check, etc.

  • Prepare data for analytical use by building data pipeline to gather data from multiple sources and systems, integrating, consolidating and cleansing data, and structuring data for use by our clients in our solutions.
     

What experience you need 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Engineering, or a comparable discipline or experience

  • 2-5 years of work experience in building, loading, transforming and analyzing data within and across database platforms and other data stores

  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL

  • Knowledge of Github

What could set you apart

  • An advanced degree in computer science, operations research, industrial engineering, statistics or similar discipline

  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry, regulations, and the data applied in marketing, acquisition, underwriting, portfolio management, and debt management lifecycle

  • Ability to clearly present technical solutions to a non-technical audience

  • Hands-on experience with Google Big Query and/or Airflow
