What you’ll do

The Application Engineering Lead provides technical direction to software and quality engineers across multiple squads and leads the teams to work as cohesive units, aspiring towards autonomy, and cross-functionality. The Application Engineering Lead provides the squads with a vision and operating model for them to succeed.  

Embracing the “build, run, own” model, the Application Engineering Lead continuously improves the productivity of the agile squads, whilst ensuring systems are run adequately in an efficient and optimized manner. 

The role takes ownership and accountability of all people and systems that are assigned and helps build a culture of customer-centricity within the team.  

What experience you need

  • Over 5 year experience and strong technical acumen and  significant experience as either a Software Engineer, QE Engineer or a technically proficient Scrum Master

  • Experience in the development and management of team backlogs

  • Ability to lead and encourage accurate estimates of time, scope and resources

  • Led large software and quality engineering programs including those with global teams

  • Familiarity in guiding high-impact, high priority product offerings using a variety of common Agile models including mapping epic and story levels 

  • Experience working with a globally distributed workforce.

  • Engage stakeholders and develop confidence with both, business and IT stakeholders, in using outcome-based engagement models 

  • Develop actionable ideas to improve productivity and the quality of work

  • Effectively collaborate and communicate with the stakeholders and ensure internal client satisfaction 

  • Familiarity and experience in secure software development practices and working in a highly-regulated environment

  • Excellent coding skills and hands-on experience in web development

  • Exposure to Cloud technologies - GCP experience will be added advantage

  • Proficiency in Apigee, API, Java and Angular will be big plus 

  • Experience in security Advisement, Admin and Tech review is mandatory.
