Business Intelligence Analyst

Our Equifax Kount team is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst for helping define metrics, refine and prioritize reporting, and build the predictive capabilities of our Business Insights and Analysis group.  This position requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to manage large data sets.  This person will work with the team leader and internal business units, with the goal of providing data and insights that drive better business decisions. This role can be based out of our Boise, ID, Atlanta, GA or St. Louis, MO office. 

What you’ll do

  • Develop strategies, standards and best practices in the areas of data wrangling, data visualization and data integration and lead adoption throughout analytical platforms

  • Lead analysis of internal and external data assets in consultation with internal stakeholders

  • Develop new processes to create metrics to track the ongoing quality across Equifax data assets

  • Design new methodologies and execute investigative data analyses of moderate complexity in response to business request for internal and external customers

  • Review metrics for anomalies and perform analysis to determine cause, and develop solutions for stakeholders to implement corrective measures.

  • Perform analysis and integrate Equifax, customer data and third party data to solve unique analytical solutions.

  • Design and execute analysis of new sources of data to quantify quality, uniqueness, coverage and overlap with Equifax sources.

  • Clearly communicate results of data analysis to non-technical partners and peers

  • Ensure proper use of Equifax data assets by working closely with data governance and compliance professionals. 

  • Using Big Data tools, responsible for gathering and organizing disparate data sets for the creation of insights

  • Develop and Collaborate extensively with Data, Analytics, and Technology leads to ensure the seamless consumption of insights generated from Equifax’s new big data analytical platform.

  • Stay current with the rapidly developing Big Data technologies landscape and share knowledge internally and with customers.  Prototype and integrate tools into the Cambrian environment and lead adoption of tools through Data and Analytics.

What experience you need 

  • Bachelor's in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics

  • 3-7 years of technical experience regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques

  • 3-7 years of experience with reporting packages (Business Objects), databases (SQL, ORACLE), programming (Python, XML, or ETL frameworks), Dashboarding/Visualization Platforms (Sigma, Tableau)

  • 3-7 years of experience using statistical packages for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS) 

What could set you apart

  • Experience with Agile development (Scrum).

  • Background in credit card, financial services, or Fraud a plus

  • Proven working experience working with available data within a business.

  • Familiarity with Kount, Pentaho BI, Snowflake, and Vertica and Oracle databases and/or other big data platforms

  • Adept at queries, reporting writing and presenting findings

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
