Director Tax Credits & Incentives

Summary

This operational position is responsible for maximizing our clients’ Work Opportunity Tax Credits (WOTC).  Additional consideration would be given to the candidate that also has experience with the following Client Operational Credits: Employee Retention Credits (ERC), Disaster Relief Credits (DRC), Research and Development Credits (R&D), New York Youth Credits, Housing and Urban Development Credits (HUD) and a variety of State & Local Tax credits (SALT) and lastly Location Based Incentives (LBI). 

The Director role is a Client facing role that manages a team of approximately 20 direct reports including managing the WOTC CRM workforce (Client Relationship Managers) and WOTC Specialist Teams. 

The role includes assisting clients to maximizing their Work Opportunity Tax Credits and also to understand which other particular credits they may or may not qualify for in order to direct those clients to our other Tax Credit Processing Groups.  The position partners with internal staff, clients and external vendors to ensure prompt and accurate processing of deliverables with additional focus on electronic system/product integrations.  

What you’ll do

  • Primary responsibility is to monitor and support a dedicated book of top tier clients for WOTC services

  • Solve complex WOTC client problems and identify innovative solutions and processes

  • Communicate difficult WOTC concepts and information to internal groups, management and clients

  • Interact with key decision makers to successfully enhance the client’s overall WOTC experience

  • Develop solid knowledge of the customer and their business in order to identify and introduce new Equifax services and product integrations

  • Ability to operate independently and provide informal & formal leadership to the WOTC Client Support Team

  • Take ownership of directs development by proactively seeking and acting on feedback, demonstrating self-awareness, and desire to meet/exceed goals and expectations

  • Provide on-the-job guidance and assist other team members in identifying the skills needed to complete tasks effectively

  • Prepare and distribute monthly, quarterly and annual reports to management as required

  • Explore and present opportunities for generating revenue through operational improvements, processing enhancements, profitability improvement or other product lines/services

  • Collaborate/participate  in client meetings, educational workshops and demos as required

  • Perform special projects and related duties as assigned

What experience you need

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business/accounting

  • Internal and external client facing experience

What could set you apart

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products

  • Proficiency in Google products

  • PC literacy and capability to learn/utilize internal software applications

  • Experience in account management, quality improvement techniques & operational management

  • Tax credit industry experience is a strong plus.  CPA designation would also be considered a plus.
