Product Owner

Equifax is seeking a technical product owner who is a master at bridging the gap between business needs and capabilities of the technology and removing barriers to software development.  This individual will gain product and industry knowledge and facilitate strategic conversations with the team to provide the most value to our customers.  This individual is responsible for overseeing the entire product development process and collaborating closely with both the development and product teams to ensure objectives as outlined by stakeholders are met.  The Product Owner will have an active role in developing the product roadmap of features and capabilities to ensure alignment of product development efforts with business strategies.  Other responsibilities include supporting the development team, managing backlog and leading the development team toward achieving the vision and mission of the organization.

  • Excellent oral and written communication

  • Understanding of design quality standards

  • Expertise in the product or market including specific technical or industry knowledge

  • Superior project management and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail, multitask and work well under pressure

What experience you need

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or Business or equivalent job experience required

  • 3+ Years of experience in Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology

  • 1+ years experience in Cloud services is preferred, Google Cloud Platform is desirable

What could set you apart

  • You will serve as the conduit between user needs, technical capabilities, and engineering requirements, developing these into roadmaps and requirements for the Agile backlog of a development team

  • You will lead the backlog refinement of features and user stories and ensure delivery teams are prepared to meet sprint deadlines

  • You will work with others on a day-to-day basis to help make decisions on what is in scope and provide input into functional decisions

  • You will have daily interaction with the teams building the products

  • You will focus on product level impediments and process changes to enable faster and higher quality software

  • You make tough decisions on trade-offs between features, quality and dates in order to provide the best solution for our clients

  • You ensure Product leadership is aware of key issues and changes, and provide them with the right information and recommendations to resolve issues

  • You work with Product Managers to ensure the features in a release represent what is needed and that return on investment is in line with their expectations

  • You have in-depth knowledge of goals and desired objectives of the initiatives and features

  • You will drive value as a function of cost, time, functionality and quality

  • You will work with Architect(s) and Tech Lead(s) to identify non-functional requirements like infrastructure needs

  • You will work with Quality Assurance team member(s) to identify test cases for automated testing

  • You will coordinate with business customers to conduct product integration testing Key Responsibilities Preparation and Participation in PI Planning Program Backlog

  • You will facilitate agile ceremonies to monitor progress and raise / mitigate risks  

  • You will oversee all stages of product life cycle

  • You will evangelizing the product with the business and coordinating between senior business leaders and the product development team
