Data Licensing Sales Leader


Reporting to our SVP Data-driven Marketing, the Data Licensing Sales Leader will be responsible for leading a team of industry sales professionals focused on driving new and incremental revenue for Equifax’s Data Licensing group. In this role, the leader will focus on expansion and usage of our industry leading identity data for both regulated and non-regulated purposes across all major verticals and emerging markets.  This role requires the person to be proficient in sharing high-level product overviews as well as detailed data information at the business executive level or at the data scientist level for a prospective customer and adjusting depth and complexity as needed to facilitate the conversation.  This role also requires the ability to coordinate and lead various internal activities to take an opportunity from a qualified lead through fulfillment once a deal has closed.



This is an outside sales role and therefore a remote opportunity. 35-50% travel in various locations across the United States is required, so we are flexible on location. Candidates must be open to travel with access to a home/remote worksite when not on the road.


What you’ll do

  • Lead generation and identification of new opportunities

  • Strategy for development for overall growth of the business

  • Building and maintaining a high performing team to execute revenue goals. 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry ‘influencers’ and key strategic partners

  • Develop and mentor our sales teams by providing accountability, ongoing training and coaching on best practices related to data licensing, customer retention and product utilization.

  • Conduct market and competitor analysis and report findings

  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly

  • Emphasis on active pipeline management, including proper vetting of opportunities, accuracy of forecasting, probability to close and gap to goal. 

  • Attend and speak at relevant conferences and seminars

  • Provide continual feedback to product management on possible improvements, new product ideas and customer requirements

  • Drive Identity Data revenue growth to meet/exceed established targets

Additional Responsibilities

  • Translate the use cases and requirements of the customer into both understandable deliverables for the sales rep, and technical deliverables for supporting professional services

  • Educate the customer on the capabilities and limitations of the product and integration with their systems

  • Understand the business of the prospects to support discussions on typical questions, concerns and possible solutions

  • Provide insight on competitive solutions and differentiate between them

  • Offer guidance on best practices based on industry standards and existing customer base


What experience you need

  • 10+ years of experience in client facing solutions, direct sales and/or sales consulting for identity data, data licensing, fraud, authentication, and/or identity solutions

  • 5+ years of experience leading high performing teams with a focus on expansion and new solution/product sales.

  • Bachelor’s degree required


What could set you apart  

  • Experience selling or buying data and insights driven solutions highly preferred

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects at one time, across various stages and customer type

  • Demonstrated success in selling across verticals (FI, Fraud, Auto, Insurance, Big Tech, etc.), customer types (large/established, small/start-up and everything in between) and channels (direct/indirect)
