Compliance Officer

As Compliance Officer/Consultant you will be responsible for supporting the Compliance Function in providing regulatory guidance, challenge and oversight across the Equifax UK businesses. You will have particular responsibility to help prepare and support the delivery of compliance advice and compliance monitoring under the supervision of senior Compliance colleagues. 

You will be a key contact point for business stakeholders and required to recognise regulatory weakness or non-compliance to define the action that stakeholders may need to take to remedy that non-compliance. You engage with training and guidance, reviewing control design/operational effectiveness, policy writing and providing regulatory advice.

What you’ll do

  • Support the Compliance Leadership team on all matters relating to compliance, regulatory and operational risk

  • Under supervision, oversee all business areas in relation to non-financial FCA compliance and related regulatory issues including conduct risk and professional ethics, identifying compliance strengths and weaknesses. 

  • Support the Compliance Business Partners carrying out horizon scanning of the regulatory landscape and implementing new legislation and rules which impact on risk and compliance 

  • Provide regulatory advice, guidance and approvals to the business 

  • Provide input into the Compliance Risk Universe supporting the Business Partners in creating a risk based monitoring plan

  • Complete 2LOD monitoring and testing reviews as approved 

  • Support the development, drafting, implementation and maintenance of company-wide training, manuals, policies, plans & procedures with practical challenge and guidance

  • Review and approve marketing materials/financial promotions

  • Raise conduct and compliance risk awareness and understanding of risk management and identifying new areas of risk and determining the correct response

What experience you need 

  • Strong understanding of current regulatory environment, specifically the role of the FCA

  • Strong understanding of conduct and/or regulatory risk, particularly with regards to product governance, strategy, policies and defining risk appetites

  • Good awareness of specific FCA rules (such as PRIN, COND, CONC and SYSC)

  • Good understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations

  • Good financial services and FCA regulated experience within an operational control, compliance or audit environment
